Ok, I freely admit to being an out of step lame guy but I didn't know there were "channels" on YouTube. Do you just search on the names listed above or is there some other way to "tune in" to a "channel"?

Yes. Just search for the names and you will find them. You can subscribe to a Cahnnel and know when they post new content.

Stumpy Nubs is a woodworking channel I've been watching lately as well as tons of stuff on woodworking For Mere Mortals.

+1 I like Jimbo's garage, he's doing a lot of things I would equate to my interests and skill level. And he seems like a salt of the earth type guy. And his garage setup is really nice for a smaller space.

I also really like donyboy73, awesome small engine / yard equipment DIY repairs, etc. Great videos and clear instruction.

I have watched every video of SV Seeker, he and some helpers are building a 74 ft boat in his yard in Tulsa OK. He has been working on it for at least 7 years, I picked it up a couple years ago and had to go back and watch from the beginning. He is an inspiration and a force of will. You should check it out, but like I said, go back to the beginning and you will see that he has built all the tools and equipment so that he can build the boat, just amazing.

South Main Auto Repair has quickly become my favorite YouTube auto repair channel. It's a one man mom and pop NAPA repair shop in central NY, and he films some of the more interesting jobs that come in his shop, and goes into really good explanations of what he is doing and why he is doing it.

I also watch

Since we are doing shameless plugs, here is a video from my channel.

My content is mostly on:
My 1911
My P-08 Luger
Tuning and modding a loadmaster reloading press
Tuning my old Harley
Working on my jeep.
Playing on my old mini lathe
I also toss in an occasional video to answer forum questions.

Started the channel just to have something to do when I was laid up after breaking my leg in 5 places and having two surgeries to have a plate installed. I set a camera and a fold up table next to my bed and made all of my 1911 and Luger videos while laid up. The rest followed from there.

Crimson Custom Guitars - This guy is a master luthier and has a series on building a custom guitar from start to finish. Also has a buch more others about guitar building

Craftsmen's Legacy - Not techincally a Youtube channel. It's a show that airs on PBS but you can watch the episodes for free on his website. He talks to various craftsmen (stone cutter, woodworker, luthier, glass blower) about their craft. Very inspiring

One of my favorites, check out Paul Short on YouTube he's in Newfoundland, Canada. His son Daniel also has his own, he builds guitars, check out Short Guitars. Both are very entertaining.

I like watching the Hack and Pack shop channel. Some of his body work looks questionable but it for sure is entertaining to watch
I also like Frank Howarth's wood working channel. Sometimes he does things his own way but his shop is neat and his production value is awesome.

I found his channel about a year ago when I was looking for reviews on the HF pipe threader.. Someone for GJ had a link to his review an got hooked as well.. One of my favorite channels! I look forward more to his videos than much of anything on TV...

Most channels I watch have pretty much been mentioned here, but some of my favorites:

NYC CNC
Grimsmo Knives
Clickspring (I'm not really into clocks, but I've learned quite a bit watching him)
Weldingtipsand tricks
Frank Howarth (Great channel if you are into wood working at all)
Oxtoolco (Tom Lipton)
Autodesk Fusion 360 (not the most thrilling channel, but has been indispensable as I learn F360, along with NYC CNC)

There are quite a few more for me, but they have already been mentioned numerous times here...
