I've got 2 old drills that I inherited from my wife's grandfather. One is a Montgomery Ward drill and the other is a Craftsman. I've also got a big Milwaukee drill that the Directv guy left behind years ago. I don't really use these drills and am thinking about selling them, but have no clue what to ask. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

is that Milwaukee made in USA?

Any way to tell? I've never seen the 'Made in USA' label on Milwaukee stuff, just the actual City, State, USA. Never "Made In"...

I've always wanted to grab used Milwaukee drills, but never know if they're US made or not.

Up until fairly recently, virtually all Milwaukee tools were USA-made. That one is certainly old enough to be almost 100% certain it was USA-made.

However, that hammer drill is missing the ribbed plastic collar that goes around the shifting mechanism behind the chuck, and it's missing the dust shield. Both parts are still available from Milwaukee, but the resale value would be reduced by the cost of those parts.

Yup, the newer Milwaukee tools have made in China but the text is so tiny you'll need a magnifying glass to see it on the info label.

Those are some nice tools. I prefer the corded stuff over the battery stuff but have both. The older drills are likely to be 1/4" though so yours are in more demand. The most I ever paid was $25 for an old metal Porter-Cable 1/2" with a spade handle. I think in the future they might become more popular than they currently are now though.

Those metal drills aren't worth squat IMHO. I see them all the time at G-sales for <$5.

The Milwaukee could probably bring $30-40.

Little off topic but not all Milwaukee tools are Made in China, some are Assembled in USA of foreign and domestic parts. Probably as good as its gonna get.
