Hello everyone,

I started my garage project about a month ago, and I figure it's close enough to finished now so I can show it off.

When I first moved in the garage featured a poorly bowed shelving unit, a oil stained concrete floor, and fire tape. After living here for a year and a half, I finally decided to do something about it. Then I found this site, and got some good ( maybe bad for the bank account ) ideas...and here you have it.

It is used to store my bikes, car, and basic tools as well as providing some space for me to tinker. I've never been handy, but I have a desire to, so the first step was doing this garage. Directly after I finished I also did a few things to the bikes, so I now know I "can" do it. :)

Re: Gray Garage

Thanks for sharing your lovely garage! It looks very nice, and "you can" do anything you set your mind to! You did your garage after all, and it turned out really nice. I like that diamond plate cabinet. I also like the floor. Nice work!

Re: Gray Garage

Thanks everyone. :)

Seriously, though, I've never been the kind of guy that was handy except with a computer. My dad wasn't that kind of dad, and no one else ever taught me. Now I figure it's probably about time I learn that stuff.

I lost my job about two months ago, so I certainly had the time. ( I also got a part time job offer last week )

During that time, I also learned some other minor stuff....for example, I installed a new exhaust & tuner into one of my bikes and swapped my cloth car seats for leather.

Now I want to get some good shop tools, like a press drill and router. I think it would be cool to learn to work with wood & metal.

Looks great! Don't water heaters come in some shade of gray? If they don't, they should.

I know!

I painted the pipe we had to install for the furnace, but one of the next projects I'd like to do is cover up that ugly water heater area. I think I've read you can close it up if it's ventilated.

Another thing I want to do is something to the inside of the garage door. I may have to steal an idea from "The Barage" for that.

Re: Gray Garage

For no "skills" the Garage looks simply amazing, what cabinets are those?

They are Coleman cabinets, but I chose to not attach their logos. They are nice, but somewhat lightweight....I'm not sure how well they would hold up in a hard working garage.

You did all that in a month? OK, you had the time (sorry to hear about the layoff), and you sure turned a bad thing into a good thing, but seriously, 3 motorbikes, 1 Mustang, and that garage? You must be single! :D

Superb job! I love tonal coloring as an aesthetic idea, and your garage hits that out of the park. Very well done!

Thanks again for the kind words, everyone.

Since I was experiencing all this for the first time, my work was slow...plus, everyday I had to haul a decent amount of stuff out of the garage and put it back in. I would say I spent at least 10+ hours a day in the garage, with the biggest PIA being the lighting and painting. It took a lot of touch ups to get all the texturing fully covered, plus the paint blemishes very easily... even now.

x10! Really love the walls and flooring. Like Jack said, you have a good eye. It's very well-lit and organized.

I agree, I do need a nice lift!

I want to get rid of the freezer ( we don't really need it ) and that would allow me space for a nice lift....or maybe on the other wall, next to the gear locker.

I'm also thinking I can put a nice bench over there with a drill press, bench grinder, etc.

Anyways, thanks again for the comments. :)
