Zero Trun Mower Won’t crank

Curious issue. Mower has been sitting in the shed all winter, went to move it the other day. It cranked but the battery didn’t have enough juice to crank over the motor. No biggie, so I put a battery tender on it over night. Went out there today and now it won’t crank at all. My first thought was to check the fuse, fuse seemed fine.

Its a 2 season old mower, what should I be looking at? Keep in mind I’m NOT electically inclined. So talk to me like a 5 year old, lol.

Mine has a switch under the seat (disconnected: don’t tell anyone) that has to be pushed down to start, and one on the left disengage pedal, if the deck is even one notch down the pedal must be pushed all the way in to start and sometimes it has to be tried a couple of times. It will start when the deck is all the way up and pedal is released and I’m sitting on the seat (before I did that thing you can’t tell anyone about).

What kind of mower? The last mower I fixed with a no crank no start had a bad relay in the starting circuit.

If it's been sitting all winter, begin by fully charging the battery, removing the cables, cleaning the terminals and the cable clamps. Then, follow the cables to the solenoid and the ground, remove and clean them also.

FWIW, once, even after doing all the above, I was still having problems. Turned out, the battery cable terminal was corroded inside around the wire. Cut it off, strip and clean the wire end and crimp on another terminal.

Do you have a volt meter to put on the battery, see if it’s showing 12+v? Guessing not too much freezing weather in FL this year.
