Should be planting corn this weekend with dad but of course more rain in IL leaves it to wet still to plant!
So decided in this little project to keep me occupied today

This 997 has a large over hang and a huge glass hood. And of course my blonde wife mows a lot so sometimes I worry about the hood!
Decided to make this, but hardest part was figuring out how to make it pivot so hood can open and still be simple enough to fold she will do it after every mowing to check fluids and clean mower


Deere sells a $500 bumper kit that’s uglier than ****!

Came up with this design, early pictures have different lower mount to main bumper structure that got revised mid build for more clearence

Used existing 1/2” hole for pivot bolt and drilled 5/8” hole for quick pins.
Hood opens far enough for weekly service but hood will still flip out of its brackets for quick complete removal is radiator work is needed


Do I have my wife powder coat it black or green ? Thinking green

Haven’t bent tube in a while so I was out of practice of course and missed on my hoop width by an inch
