Zip vs ForceField

My local HD has discontinued Zip panels and now stocks Georgia Pacific ForceField.

Anyone used it and have a recommendation? Appears to work like zip with tape, etc and $10 cheaper than Zip before it was discontinued. I've only used Zip and planned on using that for my upcoming build until I saw ForceField as an option.

Personally I don't feel the highly increased price over regular osb is an economical alternative to a properly installed "house wrap".
With that said, GP makes some fine products, just make sure that the "fine print" is equal.

I have Zip on my addition. I bought it before the ZIP increased and OSB had already spiked.

My cost difference was only a few bucks a sheet and well worth the extra few dollars.

Would I use ZIP again, yes I would.

There are videos on Youtube talking about Zip vs house wrap. Some of the videos give some pretty compelling reasons to use Zip sheathing. My garage plans call for 104 sheets of wall sheathing. The extra cost would be over $1000 for me. I would like to do Zip sheathing, but not sure if would be worth the cost for me. I need to save pennies any place I can on my build. Realistically, I should probably have close to $100,000 for my build, but I hope $60,000 will do it.

For a few bucks I agree completely, and the zip tape is on par with 3m's for sticking.

It is hard to find long term data to support any claims of better insulation. I think the win is in labor savings.

When installed right the Zip or LP or GP is a fantastic product. I think you will start seeing those being used more and more. It speeds up the process and doesn't cost way more than regular plus wrap.

Zip holds the patent and for a while they beat everyone else in court over it. LP had to pull their product from the market. I am assuming now that LP and GP are paying Huber so they can sell their zip competitor. I know LP added a few extra bells and whistles and I thought their product was better than zip. I haven't looked into the GP stuff but I suspect it is great too.

If you want to know why lumber prices are high just thank Huber, LP, and GP, that is where the money is at.
