I'd love to see some of your old ATV builds. I used to dream of owning a purpose built dune quad! A buddy just posted pics of a clean Quadzilla he picked up and it got me itching again.....

Yes on older projects for sure. If you are worried about there being too many pictures you could spread them out over time. Maybe an old project here and there in between the current stuff you are working on. If you ever have a lul in new work you could show us something from the past, that kind of thing

Sharp looking cart you'd built for him. Almost makes me want to paint mine before driving it. I'd be game to see some of the old projects, kinda stinks photos used to be so expensive or there would be a ton more to share.

Your older projects that are “probably not up to the quality of my current work” are most likely at the level of quality I’m aspiring to achieve right now. ;) Another vote to post ‘em up. Always enjoy reading your stuff.

WOW! Thanks for the responses everyone. I will definitely post up some older projects of ones around the start of my business adventure when I get a few minutes. Just keep in mind some were of my first shop on my parent's farm and far from what I get to work in now as well as very primitive tools and equipment so don't make too much fun of either my work nor my work environment at the time.

Unfortunately I've stumbled across these old photos while the wife and I were taking a trip down memory lane over the past few nights due to a family loss so I will upload some when I get time.

Thank you all.

Mike, for me it isn't about making fun of others. It's about seeing how mere mortals doing stuff at my level become masters of their universe. I know you didn't start out with the skills you have now. It gives me hope.

Yesterday I did a little modifying to the tune in my JKUR. Nothing major, just a little tweak to the airflow calculations at idle as these CAI’s can cause funny MAF readings on some vehicles. Personally I’m not a fan of CAI’s but due to limited space and configuration I really don’t have a choice in my Jeep application.

I’m not the most “techy” so this is not my normal type of work.

HP Tuners has a nice feature that allows you to view differences in tunes or compare rather.

After uploading the newly modified tune I went for a drive to verify. Watching the PID’s to see if the modification was successful.

I agree the early projects will help others more than you think. I look at some of my older projects and wonder why I have to make things more complicated than I (we) used to do. Oh because we can! I remember being finished for the weekend at 2:00 on Saturday, afternoon because I didn't bring *** home from work, no access to work, no money to buy another one, if anyplace was open to buy it from. These photos will help others (and ourselves) with the KISS law. Post them up! Harry
P.S. Ehy isn't he smiling? I had. Bigger grin when I finished mine and I was 33 years old!

I will definitely get some of the old projects posted up as soon as I get some time. I haven't been in the shop much over the past 2 weeks as my MIL passed away and I have been helping my wife with the arrangements as well as just spending time with her for support.

Thank you for the thoughts and wishes everyone. You guys really are great and one of the main reasons I love this forum.

My wife and I were really fortunate to have been able to spend as much quality time with my mother in law and father in law over the past 20+ years that we have been RV'ing with them. We introduced them to the "road trip" back in late 90's and they got hooked as much as my wife and I were.

We were so fortunate to have been able to see a relaxed and carefree side of both of them compared to the rest of my wife's siblings who only saw the one side of them when they would drop off their kids to be watched by grandma and grandpa. When we were asked for picture of her/them we had no shortage of pictures to share and all were taken while on vacation somewhere or at our home celebrating a birthday or just having a bar-b-que.

Things are not well between my wife and a couple of her siblings but my wife as well as several others noticed at the viewing while the video with the pictures was playing that we were there for them in life and enjoyed being with them. I think that is bringing my wife peace right now knowing that we took them to go do things vs. her siblings who merely dropped off their kids as well as all of their problems and issues to their mom & dad.

Now we just need to work on getting my FIL out of the house and do things. We did get him to go to breakfast yesterday and then a nice long drive where he opened up and shared some things with us but I feel we will need to do this more often.

My mother-in-law was a very sweet woman and probably the most Christ like person I have ever met and will be sadly missed. Her and I had a special relationship where from my understanding I was the only one who could joke with her or get away with saying some of the things I did. I guess I never paid much attention because I was just being me but several people over the course of the past week now have approached me to tell me that they had never seen her interact with anyone like she did me and that she enjoyed the bantering back and forth that we did. I admit I kind of gave her a hard time but I knew my place and where the line was and respected that. When we would go traveling and hop in the Jeep to go sight-seeing there were times when she didn't care for the terrain we were on and I remember on more than one occasion telling her if she didn't be quiet from the back seat that I would drop her off and make her walk back to camp and she would just give me that look but yet relax as she knew I wouldn't endanger her or my FIL.

Again, I appreciate everyone's thoughts and comments.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the warm thoughts.

My MIL was great as is my FIL. I have known them for 33 years now and at first my MIL didn't care for me but I guess I grew on her over time or I wore her down.:lol_hitti

Sorry to hear this Mike!!! My condolences. Never easy to loose someone.

Good to know you wore here down...or maybe she saw the joy and value you brought to the family?:)

Tonight I was able to spend some quality time in the shop with my son which was very therapeutic.

We finished up the installation of his new bumper on his WJ as well as installed the winch and lights and wired them up and finally installed the synthetic rope on the Warn Zeon 10S winch.

Front end blacked out and mounting brackets installed.

That’s just awesome Mike!

Thank you Cam. That was hands down the most intricate bumper I’ve built to date. Trying to keep it tight to the lines of the WJ was harder than we originally thought it would be. I’m glad we opted to build it modular style vs. one piece like the others I’ve built.

This is turning into quite a nice WJ and one I’m proud to say I had a hand in. My son is excited to show up on this month’s club run in a couple of weeks.

I appreciate you stopping by and checking it out Cam.
