I have a metric set of the IR Taiwan impacts going on five years now. They are decent for homeowner use. I picked them because they were cheap and I needed them right away. No complaints.

Looks like everyone's complaining about zoro's website got them off their butts. They just launched a new redesigned site tonight. Looks better.

I noticed.

Not really sure it's better, just different.

And I was just getting used to the old one.

Think I'll still look up stuff on Grainger site first, but maybe the new one will convert me:eyecrazy:

The new site seems a lot better. For example, before if you entered 2654-20 (Fuel 3/8 impact) it'd bring up a list of impacts from milwaukee and you'd have to find the specific one. Now it brings up the page just for that impact.

Also I noticed they finally carry the 2763 1/2" version. Some of Zoro's prices are much better than competitors if you can wait for a 30% off sale, not including the current HD $150 off promotion.

During the %30 off sale I noticed alot of people complaining about the website search feature bringing up too many items etc. I forgot to come back and mention that if you type in "air hose reel" like 8000 things pop up but if you type in "air+hose+reel" it only shows three. hope this isn't a repost of something i just forgot to post my findings due to trying like mad to figure out everything I wanted to order in time.

Hmm, that seems to work if you have the whole phrase right.

But for example, you type milwaukee+sawzall, you get nothing back because while that appears in the same listing, it's never one following the other.

At google.com search:

""milwaukee sawzall" site:zoro.com"

That brings up just the sawzall.

Might help in some situations.

They said they redesigned their site. The search function still *****. Better know the part number before going to Zoro. Think I will wait for another 30% off sale

I can't believe they redesigned their site but left the horrible search function as is. Did they really think the complaining about their site was the basic layout vs. search?

They are working on the search part. They actually set up interviews with people to discuss their experience with the site. I was one of the ones chosen. The person I spoke to is well aware of the search function not working as expected. They are working on a project to make the search work well. I give them a lot of credit as they know there are problems and are actively working on them. I am optimistic that we will see good changes to the search feature in the future.

What's the mascot Fox's name? Does he have one. My kids always ask me when they look at the Zoro calendar I keep near my desk. Thanks.

I'm actually liking the new site layout a lot. Search is still largely ineffective, as mentioned.

How often do they do the 30% sales? When would be a good guess that one might happen next - Father's day maybe, or do you think they'll have something before then?

As far as I know 30% only comes around once a year and that is the monday after Thanksgiving. 20% happens about a dozen times a year give or take.

Hmmmm. Been thinking all day about pulling the trigger on a Tweco 141i multi process welder. Price isn't great. But with the 20% off it's the cheapest I could find. And Tweco has a promo for a free helmet with the unit right now. If I wait for BF they might not have it anymore so I think I am gonna go for it.
It's gonna hurt though.

I see five 30% off flash sales in my email in the past year.

There were probably more since I don't seem to get all their mail.

This is a lot more than I can say about many other sites, regardless of whether it ***** or not, they are trying to improve, they are a legit company and their customer service is good.

Not for nothing but 5-7 years late should not be complimented. They should have figured this out years ago. They have already lost me as a customer no matter how much they drop their prices. Last year alone i spent 5k on amazon in tools. I'm glad they have good customer service but if I can not find what I am looking for guess I'll never know how good the shipping and service is.

I also cant believe they needs customer input to figure out what makes a good search experience. Welcome to 2015!

Is it really THAT hard to get a part # from your price comparison shopping! and put it in the Zoro search bar? If you're spending that much at Amazon you can easily take 20 seconds to copy and paste the part # to save some money.

Blah Blah Blah... not trying to single you out but this topic has been beat to death.

We all know it ***** and if you don't want to deal with it don't that's your option. What bothers me is not their search function but the fact that everyone who thinks it is inconvenient needing to post about it. If you want 30% off and good customer/product support then you deal with it... if not then don't but **** it up and don't post about it. It's pretty simple.

I'm pretty sure that the people at Zoro are not that upset they have lost you as a customer... for a little bit of your time you could have saved yourself $1500 or so.

I for one hope they continue with their sales as they have gotten me so great prices on some awesome products.

Sorry! End rant!

Sales on over priced items are not sales.

Amazon : 110.99 .... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007NVSTO8/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Same thing on Zoro : 129.35 + shipping $7.24 - discount = $110.72

So why again is anyone going to bother wasting valuable time fumbling through that web site ordering from them? To save myself .27 CENTS?

I just bought 2 from amazon BTW

To top it all off they can't even put up a correct description of the tool ..... http://www.zoro.com/g/20V MAX Cordless Saws/00236603/None?whence=

What kind of Description for a saw is this??

I guess it depends how much you like to shop for deals.

I agree that Zoro's site could be better for searching, but that's not going to stop me from looking.

Here's a great example: Was looking for an empty first aid cabinet, because I prefer to fill mine with products I like and will use.

Same Medique cabinet # 701MTM

Amazon $118.35

Zoro $56.83 before any discount.

I'll search for a deal like that anytime.

This is 2015, people expect everything to be done for them. What a time to live huh?

Now of course the natural thing for a modern citizen to do would be to then complain on the internet which takes far more time to do than looking up a part number :headscrat

Sales on over priced items are not sales.

That is very true and there are many items that are like that from Zoro but there are also many that with a discount can not be beaten.

Black Friday 2 years ago I bought a Miller 252 for $1780 cheapest I have ever seen it. About $500 less than anywhere else. No complaints in my book.

Now I only go to Zoro with items that I am looking to buy and know what I want... if I went there blind and wanted to shop around that would be a total different story. As the site, search and descriptions do leave a lot to be desired.

We could go back and forth all day long with examples but there nothing better for wasting time than arguing on the internet...
And doing that neither of us are even saving $0.27!

I think the real cause of the problem is that your a Dewalt person but that's a topic for a whole other thread!

If they keep up the sales they have me as a customer.
