Well, unfortunately (and not surprisingly) the Durham drawer cabinet arrived today....damaged. A couple of drawer faces dented, and one corner smashed up.

What's been the experience here with Zoro on this sort of thing? While I could send back, I'd be concerned the next one would be damaged as well.

I would ask them if they'd be willing to overpack the manufacturer's box on the replacement shipment. If they can't/won't do that then the next one will likely look the same.

Unfortunately a lot of things like that are drop shipped so Zoro has no ability to bolster the package. That bashed corner is on the back, personally i'd seek a hefty discount (30-40% off) and pound the dents flat with a block of wood and a hammer and use them.

I'd be inclined to go that route. I ordered a ladder from Zoro and despite telling me they'd pack it to prevent damage, all 3 times they didn't and fiberglass was damaged. I gave up and bought at home depot.

Got some cabinets from them.. couple came damaged. They offered 10% off or to replace them or refund.
I opted for new ones they sent them out and set up pickup of the fully assembled cabinets. FedEx destroyed the bad ones getting them into his truck that they were a total loss in my eyes. So bad that I took pictures and made the guy write that he damaged them in case they gave me any problems. Never heard anything more from them.
These were drop shipped from the manufacturer and the second set was much better.

If Zoro posts a 30% off deal this Black Friday Weekend, would you please post here? I don't get their emails even though I keep trying to sign up.

Thanks

I got Durham cabinets back when MSC had some good deals. Some of them arrived damaged (very flimsy packaging). MSC replaced. I've been surprised by how stuff is sent out -- got some Metabo cases from Amazon that were beat to hell. Just the metal case and a cheap, 1 ply piece of cardboard wrapped half-way around it (so that the case was exposed). Maybe they're factored in that it's cheaper to replace than to pack right the first time? Maybe these co's have parcel insurance or have worked something out with FedEx/UPS for claims?

Or they just have contractors pushed to the limit who occasionally make mistakes. Amazon, at least, times their fulfillment center personnel and continuously ramps up their productivity goals.

As you guys noted, they offered 10% or to return and have another delivered. I pressed them a bit as I was concerned the replacement would be damaged as well, but they said since I already purchased the unit at a discount, the most they could offer was 15% - which I accepted.

I'll take the auto body hammer and dolly to it and get it somewhat back to where it should be.

Thanks for the help guys.

Did your item say ship from Zoro or ship from manufacturer?
Sorry to hear. Hope you can make it look better. I found the body repair tools not for me personally but I bet a PDR guy will make it almost perfect

Anybody else notice that Zoro seems to be dropping Grainger numbers from descriptions? Making search even more confounding.

Same here, calendar but no postcard. Did anybody receive both a calendar and postcard? If so, there's still hope.

WTH - If anyone doesn't plan on using their code on their postcard, PLEASE PM ME! My sister in law asked me to help her get a deal on a Miller 211 and I was counting on this deal!

Just a guess on my part, and a bit of wishful thinking. The postcards, going through snail mail, need to be sent out early enough to make sure the are received on time.

I am thinking that everyone who typically gets their promo codes from Zoro by e-mail, we should get something Sunday or even early Monday morning.
