I am curious how much $$ Zoro lost last black friday.... I know we bought welders and Honda generators WELL below their cost, I also bought 3k in fluke meters that retailed for closer to 6k. After them doing a sale like that I have been holding out and making my list to buy from them again. I did pick up things a couple weeks back when they did 30% off. But if everyone is treating them like I am, they got their name known to me, but they won't get business unless they have a huge (profit loss) sale. Not because I am not happy with Zoro but the day to day prices on most things are so high compared to everywhere else...

All that said, I sure hope they do 40% off again :)

I bought from Zoro during their big sales and their smaller discounts throughout the last year. I'm afraid we aren't going to see a huge sale because, they simply can't afford us pillaging them again.:wtf:

well based on this lame deal, a $25 leatherman, marked up to $45 as throw in on $100 purchase, my hopes for a good cyber monday deal from zoro looks to be diminished.

if this is the best they can produce for black friday, on already highly over priced goods, it looks like the trend they've had all year is continuing.

i hope i'm wrong about cm, but this is beyond underwhelming

:shocking:Zoro charges/lists full retail on many of their items so it would take at least a 40% BF deal to put them in alignment with typical sale prices of other sellers.

So when are you going to start your business and sell things at a loss a couple times a year? Link to your website with coupon code please?

Thanks for the promotion Zoro

why do you care so much?

wait you forgot, start my business and inflate my prices like crazy first?

my comments are no different than the many comments about how lame most bf and cm deals are from various retailers.

seems really weird you feel the need to make silly comments like this, it's for certain you don't own zoro tools :lol_hitti

Dunno Man.. Maybe I think its ****** that a company that gives heads up to GJ members in regards to upcoming sales needs to endure comments like yours (especially in there thread) If you don't like the deal.. Move On. The 30-40% deals in the past have put zoro the cheapest by far in regards to price, case and point they sell the miller 212 at $1900 and some change, it can't be found any cheaper with that discount.

hey, clearly your itching for a fight

chill, go enjoy your thanksgiving dinner today

and take your own advice, if you don't like my comments....MOVE ON

it's only a nebulous profit motivated retailer...it's not like i'm saying anything about a person in particular...shhheeeshhh

ps it's not a humanitarian act of them to give us a heads up on any deals, it's really business motivated!

I haven't found that to be the case.

Most of what they sell is industrial supplies/tools. Among MSC, McMaster, Grainger and Enco their everyday prices tend to be a little better.

I don't buy the common homecenter stuff at industrial suppliers. If you do then you will find prices to be high. I shop at industrial suppliers for the stuff you can't find any other place.

I also buy from Zoro during the year. They often have dollar off deals equal to 20-25% off. There has been a $75 off $300 deal all November (still, see the deal/code thread at the top of the list).

I am not good at sniffing out the "best deal ever" on anything. This being said I am very happy with Zoro. I search Granger then find the item at Zoro by part/model #, apply the discount and move on. Never look back!

Zoro has beaten everyone (I could find) on drive motor prices and other INDUSTRIAL supplies.

I am also in the process of doubling up and expanding most of our hand and impact tools.

I have been using all the major US tool brands for 40 years. I find the Proto tool quality/price to be the best for me and with the various discounts Zoro runs year round, I usually have an order in every month.

I have been very happy with Zoro and will continue with them until something changes.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday. :)

Perhaps some of their prices are high, but I know for a fact that some items I have priced through them are the same as or significantly lower than elsewhere. Dayton G73 heaters seem competitively priced, for example, and with a sale are likely to be the best deal around.

They are alittle higher on some thing, but when you factor in coupons they offer some great deals, kinda like Enco. Example, Miller 252 welder, cheapest I could find it was 2,284 list for 2,542, so delta of ~250. 10% of coupon gets you the same price as buying for a possibly less reliable seller. Add in 30-40% off and its a screaming deal.
The customer service is also top notch.

This.

I know Zoro Tools has a presence on this forum. In case any Zoro reps are reading, there are a lot of people here who appreciate your activity on this forum and the deals you've offered. Keep doing it.

I suspect those of us that are reasonable and appreciative are less likely to post then the complainers.

I like Zoro Tools and I have ordered from them quite a bit this year. I would like to buy more from them, but a lot of stuff is just too high.

As an example: The Ingersoll Rand 231C impact is currently $159.27 from Zoro and $119.99 from Amazon. I can't just throw away $40.

I am hoping for a good discount/sale Monday as I need a new impact and it would take at least a 25% discount just to be competitive with Amazon.

Thanks Bull.
Now to get permission from my wonderful bride to attack the savings account. An early heads up lets us dream about our next purchases and what we can build with them. Hitting the $200 mark is never a problem but staying under $1000 is. Shes in a good mood so Ill ask her as soon as I get off this box.

Thanks!! At least we have a couple days to plan. It'll take that long given their terrible website.

That is a good deal bull... thanks.

Does anyone know how these heaters work? Do you just plug them into a standard 240v welder receptacle or do you need to hard-wire them in?

Dayton recommends hard wiring them but others on GJ have hooked them up with a cord with good results. I just bought one from Farm and Fleet and I'm still trying to decide how to hook mine up.

Home depot has a flex-conduit kit for $8. 8' of conduit and two ends. Hard to beat that.

Code calls for hard wire. You can use flex or seal-tight conduit. For the price of a plug/cord/outlet it will cost you less to hard wire it.

Not for me as my breaker box is maxed out with no empty slots. I'd have to get a new box or get rid of my only 240v plug in my garage. I'll just have to turn my heater off if I want to weld.

Thanks for the input guys.

Well, there's your solution right there. Extend your welding circuit and hard-wire the heater. Turning the heat off when you're welding is only a workable compromise.
