Nice job on the furniture…I wish I had woodworking skills. Looking forward to seeing more updates on the garage and kitchen remodel.

It's been awhile since I've posted on here. I haven't made much progress on the garage, but that's a story for another time.

It took everything I had to get the kitchen over the finish line, but we are very happy with the end results. My wife gets the "Kitchen of Her Dreams" sooner than she would have if we paid someone to do it.

We did everything ourselves besides the countertops.

Now it's summertime, so we're on the go constantly and finding garage time will be difficult. Maybe I'll get it done before this coming winter, 1 year after the original estimated completion date.

We also finally have our pickup back. What a nightmare.

We tried to throw our hometown dealer/bodyshop a bone, rather than taking it back to the suburbs where we currently live.

What a mistake. So many issues. Such poor communication. We actually had to have another dealer correct their mistakes and oversights.

All-In we were without the truck from mid-November through the beginning of May. On the bright side, the repairs look ok.

Very nice work on the cabinets. How many door are the same size? Meaning you could set up an production operation and get several parts cut for one size?

Too bad about the long wait for the truck. Is the hometown dealer small or big dealer?

There were 52 cabinet doors/drawer faces.

We were just refinishing the existing cabinets. They previous owners put a layer of white paint on, but I imagine the tannins bled through, so they put primer over the first coat, and then a third layer of white on top of that.

Not to mention they used brushes, and painted them in-place so they had tons of brush marks and pools of dried paint.

We had to first strip them down, which was the most time consuming and tedious part. We then hit both fronts and backs with 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of SW Emerald Enamel. We also used brushes, but it came out much nicer since we did them on a flat surface and used quality paint/brushes and sanded between coats.

As far as the truck, the hometown dealer was both small and large? They're part of a chain, but they're the only chrysler dealer within a 30 mile radius. Next time I'll just tow it back home.

Part of a chain answers my question…..
