Lamborghini Factory

A few years ago, we did a feature on the Ferrari factory… In fairness, we thought we should hit up the Lambo factory as well. The ideas that can be gathered for our own man spaces are admittedly limited, but the inspiration sure isn’t.

Check out this Gallery that MotorTrend ran way back in 2003.

The Ultimate Factory's show on this was great, really shows you just how much hands on attention goes into each of these super cars.

Sometimes photos on flickr have areas on pictures that have hidden notes that are revealed when the cursor is passed over them. The spot with the note gets highlighted with a white, outlined square. Maybe this photo was taken off of the flickr photo website. Not positive but that square looks a lot like one from a flickr pic.

The white square seems to be attached to the bracket on the red tank. Waste disposal, fluid dispenser? You are looking at the back of the white square.

Almost looks too clean and well lit to be an assembly plant. Working there might be neat for a short while until you realize you will never own one and probably never get a chance to drive one! I wonder if they ever let employees drive one? I know at Ford we have days where they let employees sign up to do test drives on the track in Dearborn (limited to 70mph :(). Usually they bring one of each model and then let us have at it. Very fun

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
Last year I worked in Orange County, California for 14 weeks. The facility I was working at was right behind the Lamborghini facility and it wasn't uncommon to see/hear them riping around the block. Awesome machines, I wouldn't mind having a dozen or so of those.

Lambo's, like Ferrari's, are ALL road tested prior to ODO hookup and delivery. You heard them ripping around because each on is. They are NEVER delivered with a flaw that could have been caught with a 5 mile test.

I wrangled a tour of the Ferrari factory in 1997... Pretty amazing.

More like a custom workshop than a factory. Immaculately clean, unhurried, amazing cars and builders all over the place.

Extremely friendly folks, once you manage to get on the list for a visit. Still, they wouldn't let me take out the F50 they just finished for some hot laps on their private test track.

I visited the Lotus factory as well about 20 years earlier (early Esprit era), very different, but also a very cool car building operation!

The questions is, where do we get the infloor lifts?

Looks like the guts of a construction manlift/scissor lift, wonder what the capacity is? Bet it won't lift a 9000pound F350 :) works for those little carbon fiber go carts

1320stang,

I thought so.

In answer to your other question, probably from your neighbor; Autoquip!

They wouldn't sell a lift to me as a hobbiest, but I'm sure they would not hesitate to sell to some major manufacturer.

I'm in Montreal on business and stopped in at John Scotti Exotics. This guy has literally a hundred Lambo's (inc the new 640), ferrari's, Lotus (inc new Evora's) as well as hundreds of classic cars. If anyone is ever in this city it's a must! I"ll post pics when home.

I would wager that if you actually own a "carbon fiber go cart"... you have the ability to purchase a lift that can lift 10 9000 lb F-350's :bounce:

So Joey, was this removal of the muffler to replace with something else? Like a Tubi or Capristo?

i put a Capristo Stage 3 in my 360. the murc got a LOC (lambo of orange county) muffler and 2ndary cat bypass pipes. the murc is louder and deeper, but the 360 is sweeter sounding. it was a weight savings of over 80 lbs in the murc!

crappy vid:

You work on your own lambo??

hell yeah! isn't this a garage forum? at the end of the day, it's just a car. and i am way less mechanically skilled compared to a lot of people on this forum.

luckily, i built a better garage to work on them, thanks to this place!

Nice rides and nice shop by the way.

manansal-

To quote someone from another message board like this one...

"DAD!!! I'VE BEEN SEARCHING HIGH AND LOW FOR YOU ALL OVER THE WORLD!! PLEASE PM ME YOUR ADDRESS SO THAT WE CAN BE REUNITED! lol..

I'm drawing a blank as to what I like better... the cars inside the garage or the garage itself.

I thought Lamborghinis spontaneously combust, but there are no cars in these pics that are on fire. Are you SURE these are Lamborghinis?

I own two Lamborghinis and they do NOT spontaneously combust. Those Lambos to which you are referring were pre-Audi Lambos that were afflicted......
