Merry Christmas

Hey folks, I’m snowed in at the in-laws in Oklahoma City and thought I would take the time to wish you all a Merry Christmas. With any luck, you guys are enjoying some new tools out in the shop or are using your old trusty stuff to assemble Santa’s goods for the kids. Here’s to you and them… HAVE A GOOD ONE!

Merry Christmas!

I'm snowed in at home with my girlfriend. Too crappy to get to either her family or mine, both within 2 hours of here. In anticipation of this, I bought some lumber to build some new shelves and whatnot in the garage. I have some heat, I have materials, I have tools... and 4 dead (cold?) batteries for my drills. So here I sit while they warm up/charge.

I love a good plan gone terribly awry

That said, friends of ours are in the same boat so we're all getting together shortly for an impromptu Christmas dinner. So the work will wait until tomorrow.

Everyone be safe, have fun, and enjoy their new toys!

I live in Oklahoma City myself. Welcome to our city! How about that 14 inches of snow? It took me 8.5 hours just to get home from work yesterday. To say that our fair city does not handle snow and ice well would be an understatement. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Ryan and everyone on the Forum.

Snowed in in Papillion, NE.

Actually, I could get out, but don't really need to.

Thought I would stop by and see what I can find for a furnace for my shop.

I am retiring next month and told my wife if I were going to get anything done, I need HEAT!!!!.......and she said okay, so....here we go.

HF hand planer. Have to wait to try it out. One tractor and two 3/4 ton trucks stuck in the 10 foot drifts trying to get out. Hmmm. only 6" of snow on the ground but three days of 40 mph winds sure can pile up the snow. Merry Christmas.

Merry belated Christmas to you also Ryan and to everyone here, thank you again for keeping this place (garage journal) such a great and cozy place to come and visit, it's like having a home away from home, my wife says I spend WAY too much time here ... may many blessings come your way in the new year ! ! !

oh hum Christmas is just another day. One day people go into debt for and drive exhausting hours to see relatives that they pretend to like and pretend to have a good time with so they can eat too much and come home with indigestion thinking about the money they now dont have and owe and how bad they are going to have to diet to make up for all that food. I luckily spent my day quietely by myself reading and lost 6 pounds. I am NOT being negative but Christmas is too commercial.

Yes I agree its for families but its gotten nuts. I hear everyone complain about having to go and visit all these people. Christmas is better sitting by a fire with loved ones and really ejoying their selves, being close. Hand made or thoughtful gifts are much better than going out and spending tons of money. The meaning of Christmas is gone.

Doing something fun together like building your garage or working on the muscle car together now that has real meaning because you are actually together and working as a team.

Guess I am MR scrooge now lol sorry
