Of course, Dave, it will probably be like most car projects, always looking for some way to improve or change it. lol Couldn't be happier for you.

Thanks George! You are right, there is a long list of things to do and add, signs still need painted, etc. But, that always keeps it changing and new stuff for kids to see as they go along. Looking forward to seeing you at the Stray Kat in a few weeks. I gutted the Merc last weekend, so I will only be a spectator again.
And you wonder why braces cost so much?
Braces cost so much because it takes 10 years of school (at a cost of $250k or more) and the overhead is high.
And to think the orthodontist gets to write it all off.
Yes, and no. A fair amount of the stuff is my toys when I was a kid and stuff I have collected over the years that has just ended up here....you know, stuff your wife says you can put anywhere you want so long as you put it in the attic or the garage. LOL. The rest of it I built myself at a cost waaaaaaaay less than buying it outright.
I;m not sure I would go see him. I want a clean, modern facility, but all I see there is extra expense that I would have to pay for.
It is a cool facility though, just not logical to me.
Your point is a valid one and that is the way some people take it and that's ok. Braces, however, is a pretty "clean" procedure and doesn't make the mess that regular dentistry does that requires so much clean up. So, that gives us a fair amount of leeway in decorating that isn't possible in other kind of offices.
So far as extra expense that get's "paid for," that point was brought up on the HAMB and that point is not lost on me, either. I pointed out that here in town, I am actually the lest expensive guy in town, do not live in a big expensive house, do not drive big, fancy, expensive cars, wear a Rolex and the other flashy things that hack folks off about Drs. I live modestly and chose to invest in a facility my patients and their families can enjoy to make the process a bit more enjoyable rather than keeping it all to myself so to speak. Locally, that is evident to most folks in town as they have seen me live and practice here for the last 15 years.
I appreciate all the kind words, and the criticism, actually. Believe it or not, we built this facility on a real tight budget and did a ton ourselves (and continue to)....a budget much less than most folks spend on a "regular" facility as a matter of fact. There is lots of stuff you can do that is cool, different and still within a reasonable budget. Most folks don't think outside the box, though, and miss an opportunity. I'm a blessed man, and that is not lost on me one bit.
