Squeegee Broom

My family knows me as a bit of a Griot’s *****. When it’s time to get me a gift, they just head on over to their website and pick stuff at random. Works for me… Works for them… In any case, my last gift was a Squeegee Broom. I figured it to be good for water obviously, but with the new office/shop coming together I had an opportunity to use it as a general broom. It rules. The latex bristles pick up just about everything and a simple “hosing” gets it as clean as can be. Pretty damned brilliant.

Well your recommendation is highly rated in my book. I am putting a new Epoxy floor I will check it out.

There's a company that comes to the fair, the home show and anything else like that. They sell a version call the Sweepa. It's pretty useful around the garage and the squeegee comes in handy for tight spots

Saw something like this at Tractor supply last night. Looks like a regular broom with a squeegee on one side. The one described here looks like it has thicker bristles though, are those rubber?

I have had one of those for a few years. It works great in the garage for cleaning up spills and its nice because you can hose it off quickly.

Griot's has store here in Tacoma where they sell all that stuff. Now I know where to get a couple new ones. We have dogs that shed like hairy tornados,these brooms are the only thing that gets it out of the rugs. We are on our second one and its almost wore out! {But thats 5 years of dog hair too!}:D

I know it says squeegee, but really, how does it do with water? I pull my boat in the shop after being on the lake. So I get large puddles. My current squeegee works, but it's a pain in the ****.

I have one and while it works great on an unfinished concrete floor for sweeping, I'm not sure it would be so good for large puddles. The texture on my floor doesn't lend itself very well to squeegeeing but I use this to broom/squeegee out winter slop and small puddles after pulling the car in from rainstorms. For large puddles, the squeegee side is a little small (its only 12 or so inches wide) and it doesn't have angled ends to help push the water to center.

If your definition of large is less than 2-3 feet in diameter, than this might fit as a good all purpose solution. However, if your talking like what I remember from my boating days, I think you'll want a squeegee that the pool supply or industrial supply stores sell - something 3' + accross.
