So, I can’t seem to get out of my “nerd build” phase. I’ve moved on from keyboards and strange little TVs to unmanned aerial vehicles. Essentially, these are model airplanes with onboard computers that are programmed to fly very long distances and perform a number of different mission objectives. More on that later…
But in doing all of this, I’ve become a bit of a crimp tool connoisseur. Crimping heavier gauge wire with automotive terminals is easy – even for a cheap tool. But crimping small 24awg wire with 2.54mm connectors is not. I know… cuz I’ve tried just about every cheap ass crimping tool out there.
Recently, I broke down and bought this. Holy hell gentlemen – I didn’t believe the hype and now I’m a hype beast. It’s so, so good. And the thing is, the tool isn’t really made all that well. It feels almost cheap in the hand, but the dies are something special. If you do a lot of fine wiring work, get these – you won’t be disappointed.
