Picked up a Bahco model 7750 80 tooth ratchet ratchet the other day on a whim. The ratchet is made in Spain. I was surprised to see that the internals match a Snap on F80 ratchet down to the same printing (in english) on the gear cover plate "Sealed ratchet-do not immerse in fluids, replace worn parts, and PAT Pend." The ratchet measures 8 inches overall.
The comfort grip is well, comfortable. The rubber? suface has some texture to it, it's rectangular shaped, and gives a little when squeezed hard. There is a hole in the handle which may bother some. There's a slight curve where the handle meets the ratchet beam that provides for natural thumb placement. The ratchet beam is squarish, not round. The ratchet has good balance and feel to it. I'll take it to work and see how it performs.
The pictures below compare the Bahco to a standard F80 ratchet.

I had always heard the rumor of the Dual 80 guts being made in Spain. Maybe it's true? The Bahco ratchet looks nice.

I wasn't sure if you knew this or not, but Bahco is owned by Snap-on. :)

Yes, the Bahco stuff sold with the fish-and-hook logo next to the Snap-On logo have been/are Williams made. That applies to all the USA-made Bahco sockets/ratchets/wrenches (SAE only).

I was looking at that Bahco 80-tooth a few days ago on the net and intend to buy one some time in the future. Price is not that bad from what I've seen too.

The ratchet handle might be forged by Irimo in Spain. Irimo is under the Snap-On umbrella and have been making some stuff available for Snap-On USA. The ratchet internals on the other hand are made in Taiwan (confirmed by Snap-On Japan).

Really? Can you back up that confirmation? Everything I have seen from Snap-on and copies of emails direct from Snap-on on this forum is that Snap-on is maintaining that the ratchet internals are made in the USA.

I regard my source to be credible. He got his information straight from a Snap-On rep. in Japan that was in attendance at a trade show in Japan. ...but I can't rule out that the rep might have been misinformed himself. :D

Looks like we're right back where we started on the COO thing :)

I'd be surprised if the D80 guts were Taiwanese, though.

Some of us actually KNOW where the Dual 80 is made so we don't have to " think " it is made in the USA we KNOW it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not made in Spain or Taiwan or any other place .

It is made in the USA just as all the documentation states.

Snap on is not breaking numerous federal and state laws, opening themselves up to massive lawsuits to lie to the public as the Trolls and conspiracy theorist in their tin foil hats would have you believe.

Who cares about CCO already??!!

Does it work? Does it work well?

Why is it that when something is said to be made in China it is immediately deemed to be **** and if something is made in Germany it is instantly deemed to be really high quality?

Neither is Made in USA.

It's good you think that. Not many other people do. Even my dealer says the guts aren't made in the US.

Lay off the huge fonts.

Obviously, Snap-On isn't breaking any laws, because they're not marking the ratchet as "Made in the USA".

They are stating that they are in their marketing materials.

4th letter of the alphabet
perhaps you need to read the tariff act of 1930

"However, if the goods are destined for a U.S. based processor where they will undergo “substantial transformation”, then that processor or manufacturer is considered the ultimate purchaser. The law authorizes exceptions to labeling requirements, such as for articles incapable of being marked or where the cost would be “economically prohibitive.”"

translation parts can be sent here transformed "read installed" into a ratchet handle and it would be legal to call them made in usa, Im wondering does a 80 tooth repair kit say made in usa?

By reading that catalog page, the 7750 is made in the USA. I guess Bahco, and Snap-on have teamed up with the second shooter on the grassy knoll to continue the conspiracy.

The 'Made in U.S.A.' applies to the Williams ratchets.

Letters in the product code = Made in U.S.A.
No letters in the product code = imported.

See catalog.

I like COO discussions. Not because it matters to the function of the tool but because I like tool history and tool development. Part of the hobby.

I think it's cool. Now that the 80 series seem to be getting the screws put in the right side again (S series is a start) I would like to see Williams get the old Dual 80 head. They are great no matter who, what or where they are made
