I gave one to my father last year and he loves it, but I have nothing to compare it against.

It’s great! Way faster than the M12 buzz box. I like the auto stop feature.

I picked one up as a holiday special at Home Depot w/ two 5ah batteries. The auto pressure check feature seems to work really well.

The TPMS in one of our vehicles does not indicate which tire is low. The screw-on chuck was a bit of a pain in the neck to use on all four tires, so I bought this short extension with a self locking nozzle:

JACO Lightning S2X Tire Inflator Hose Extension Self Locking Nozzle

This set-up makes it quick and easy to go around to all four tires.

... instead of the M12 ?
I've had the M12 inflator for a few years and its done a good and reliable job topping up the tires from 24 to 32 psi. Bought the M18 two months ago and it is much faster but the last few times I used the M18 inflator the tire pressure was either wrong and sometimes very wrong. Thinking about returning it since its <90 days or warranty it. The M12 inflator has been accurate for my needs to top up the tires to cancel out the TPMS warning.

I have one and in fact I just used it today. Its great. The auto stop is awesome. It let's my wife use it to fill her tires without having to worry about over or underinflating.

No complaints about mine, I think it's worth it over the m12 for the speed and power.

I have these connectors on my air gauge. Now I can add this to my compressor. Cost as much as the plug in compressor but worth it !

The amount of air released on unscrewing is negligible. It's one of my most used Milwaukee tools. Not having to roll out the compressor is a godsend at home. Also great for dirt bike tires in the woods. You can easily adjust air pressure based on the terrain. I love it!

Yes, but got the bigger one to use for other things too.

This is where I'm at. Over double the price of just the inflator but way more useful. Won't have auto shut off and built in air hose but can use it for nail guns and other stuff vs just inflating a tire. I do have the m12 inflator and leave it with the wife so she can use it when needed.

I don't know if these would work. There is no mention as to whether the thread that would go into the inflator's screw on part is a true tire valve thread. It might be but in order for it to work this has to be a tire valve thread.
Several reviews mentioning both the m12 and M18 inflator and how well it works with them would tell me that more then likely it has the proper thread......

The M18 overinflated - maybe 1.5-2PSI. Then it deflates to the desired pressure

Also got the pancake. On a whim. Never thought I would get it. Great for blowing out the irrigation lines and such

They work. Source: me (on my M18 inflator)

not in my experiecce
The reason is almost certainly one of the two following things: You have a bad copy and should get warranty assistance, or you're doing something incorrectly. Worth figuring out which.

Just found a case where the inflators won’t work. Trying to blow up a wimpy little hand cart tire, one of those little 4x10 things.

My in-car inflator, and the pay for air at the gas station were too low of a flow rate to reseat the bead. We took it to a tire store, they popped it right up. The drive time was about equal to the time lost dicking with the little inflators.

Those can be a pain. I usually wrap a ratchet strap around the tire and tighten it up and the bead will seat. Then take strap off before filling all the way up.

I have a riding mower and hand truck that regularly go completely flat between use (especially over the Winter), to the point of the bead coming off the rim. So far I have been able to use a ratcheting strap (the kind for strapping things down in the bed of my pickup), running it around the circumference of the tire, then ratcheting it tight until the bead meets the rim.

At that point, it has a good enough seal for the tire to air up and re-seat on the rim.

I did get a pair of inner tubes to put in the mower but haven't had the time yet to install.

I have an M18 inflator, and absolutely love it. I want to add a quick chuck, but just for convenience, especially in the cold.

Ditto on the ratchet straps to re-seat a tire. For my hand truck, I'm getting ready to install solid (flat-free) tires.
