Wednesday Market Place buy !
I saw these two nice clamp on vises this morning, a little back and forth via messenger and we struck a deal. Turned out he was just 5 mins away. One was a nice Made in USA with a wide slide with horizontal guides instead of the usual verticals.
The other was the one that caught my eye. It s a Record Jr. 51 clamp on vise.
British Made. ( I will have to point out its deficiencies to the Craptain ! )
That a nice Chief next to then.

Good day, bought 2 vises and sold two Vintage Coleman lanterns and 2 vintage fans all before noon !!!

I have one that looks just like that, but isn't branded. Please post details when you can see markings!

Thank you again guys.
3Bay, congratulation to you and the wife on the new addition to the family! Now just need to get that little girl some Bills attire! (y)
Bills stuff/NFL highly unlikely from us. I have a friend that dresses up his baby like that for the Bills. I think she might like soccer, all the kicking she did. We shall see.

Today's haul....
SCH1.jpg

2 large & 2 med. plastic jars with screw tops (.25¢ ea.)
I don't know what I'll use them for yet but I got 'em
A Harbor Freight 1/4" dr. Pittsburg Composite ratchet ($2)
And a Autocraft drill bit case with a few bits ($1)......SCH2.jpg

I bought the drill case (specifically) to put my KOBALT mini ratcheting screwdriver & 1/8" bits in (I put the drill bits in a Milwaukee drill bit case).....
SCH3.jpg

I'll probably find some foam to put the driver & bits in later, but for now they're happy to have their own home.....:rocker:
SCH4.jpg
SCH5.jpg

Today's total = $4

Wow, those are cool.

What are the overall dimensions of each?

Do the contents match the labels?

Who cares at $5 each!!!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, You ****!

They’re both roughly 23 inches wide 18 inches tall and 6 inches deep
I’d say about 60% of the labels on the drawers are correct. Sadly some aren’t like the “gun slings and sights” label. That drawer had a hundred plastic clips in it. Mostly all of the labels that say “nuts, nails, screws” etc are all correct. Now I have my own mini hardware store B72B82E6-5C3E-435F-BDBD-BDFF584289CA.jpeg

Pin pulls out to let the triangle open up

It can also fold flat and compact.

dbovair, that is a nice pair of drawer sets! I'm thinking those may have been for library indexes? the two larger drawers sort of say no on that though, any indication of a central wire for card retention?

They’re actually completely bare inside
Also another thing that’s strange is the two units have been constructed out of slightly different thickness wood making the one with the two larger drawers ever so slightly higher.

That would be quite an impressive DIY build.

Definitely it’d be a lot of drawers to construct.
All the handles and little label holders are held in with bent over posts on the inside of the drawer which makes it seem more commercial but it’s hard to tell

Nice haul.

I’m not home right now but I’ll have to check once I am. You saw it in the small drawer of wrenches right?

I tried to go to a Thursday morning estate sale at opening but there was no parking available and a huge line. I went back this afternoon 10 minutes before closing and grabbed a few items in the few minutes I had available. I am a regular customer from this company and they usually let me suggest the price so I always ignore the marked prices. Today was no different and my low offer was accepted.

Hey, me too! But I didn't leave... I walked the three blocks from my parking spot to sign up and then went to another sale about a mile away. When I got there, I found out that sale didn't open until 10am. Back to the first sale and a parking spot a block closer. After about 40 minutes I checked how the list was progressing only to find they were still on page three of five internet sign ups!
Back to the 10am sale. Walked right into the garage and rooted around inside three tool boxes (on sale with contents!) only to find rusty offshore dreck. Back to the first sale and my same parking spot. Ten minutes later, I'm in the garage looking at a grinder that in the photos had looked like a Baldor but turned out to be made in Taiwan. Everything I saw smacked of Harbor Freight. What a wasted morning. 😭

Got this socket set today that’s mostly new Britain and a few pieces of craftsman. Really liked the wood box and I want to fix the lid eventually 31EC5583-C01F-40BA-A606-F6E03D4B6A4C.jpeg

@chenry318 I can think of a few times that socket light would have been handy. Sadly, I can also remember times where I've had plenty of light, but still had to work by feel because of obstructed access (poor design).

Same here; I've actually closed my eyes when working "blind" so I could concentrate on the feel better.

I sometimes do that to keep **** from falling into my eyes (working under vehicles). Even with a face shield and glasses, stuff finds my eyes. Not to mention ears.

All the time now. Learned that trick back when working on a 68 Mustang GT. Boss saw me struggling with the plugs, told me to quit looking at it, and just feel it. Still do it after the second failure.

Never did get the drivers back plug out or in, they sent it to the pro mechanic. Said he needed 3 universals and three extensions connected togetherto get to it, subject of another thread about wobbles.

I had a mid-80s Chevy Celebrity, with a transverse-mounted 4-cylinder engine (WAY underpowered). The factory expected you to remove an engine mount bolt and rotate the engine forward to replace spark plugs (and I want to say the oil filter, but I don't remember).

I hated that engine. Killed two of them before finally getting rid of that car. Long story...

I know it’s not a tool, but it’s too cool not to post.
I got this at a local auction for $12.00. Best money I’ve spent in quite awhile.
As near as I can find, it dates to near WW2. The graphics look right for that time frame.

Small haul this morning (Lugz 2023_09) including some antique 'boys' books, a bonafide WWII jeep wrench (FairmounT ISN 25), and a novelty advertising ye olde brown jug liquor bottle handle screwdriver, my second.
