I tried to take showers with her, but I can't handle how hot the water is for very long. I had some really, really bad sunburn on the tops of my feet and they are super sensitive to hot water now.

Old "pops" knew cool trucks before they were cool.👍
Great pictures, that was a historic ice storm that the locals still talk about. I'm only a mile away from it but I wasn't here back then.

I am still alive, just haven't been doing much of anything worth posting, getting tired of the rinse and repeat of snow storms. Did I ever tell you that I hate snow???
Wait till you see the weatherman waxing poetic about next Tuesday

Is the ground thawed there? Our last 3 snows weren't worth even thinking about plowing, while the Big D got about 10" 3 snows ago. Heavy, wet snow.

Nothing is frozen, I haven’t plowed down to the Quonset hut, but I think I am going to have to make a pass down there tomorrow, it isn’t melting like I had hoped.

Nothing is frozen here either and I hate it. I'd take cold and frozen over this in between weather any day.

We've been in a trend lately of pretty cold at night yet above freezing during the day so everything is a muddy mess. The last couple snow storms were also windy so we have 4' drifts and not 10' away there's bare muddy ground.

I decided to leave all the remaining snow, the ground is just too soft and I would make a huge mess of things, it looks like we are getting another storm on Tuesday, I most likely won't plow the quonset hut road after that either. We are trending towards fifties most days, so I suspect the snow won't survive too long and there isn't anything pressing (unless Dad wants to put a boat in the Quonset hut), so at this point less road destruction is my aim.

Yesterday I had some help and we setup the rotabin on the new pallet jack riser, had to put rubber in between the two, there was no friction and nothing was perfectly flat, so it would move around too easily. Hopefully the rubber solves that issue. Then we setup the second rotating thing, it has slats on four vertical sections, like a heavy duty store display. I had originally wanted to use some bins that I had, but apparently they did not actually fit and without major mods, there was no easy way to make them work. At that point we used some of the Milwaukee pack-out wall racks, it is a big waste of space, but it gets things out of the way for the time being. Also welded on some hangers for the belt grinder and grinding wheels, I want to live with it for a bit. After some time, more ideas will develop and I can add more hangers or other types of storage to it. The only issue is that I will most likely have to make another one similar to it for the Salvage Garage, also a smaller version for hammers and pry bars.

Doing those couple things gained more floor space and with a bit more cleaning I can see things shaping up fairly nicely. We went back and forth on what to do with the Lista Storage wall, there is a bit of a catch 22, if I don't build it all as designed, I don't have enough room to put all the drawers from all the current cabinets, this would make a mess that I can't recover from, there just isn't enough wall space to put al the cabinets. I will have to think about things a bit and regroup, might be that I just have to remove things from the shop at the Hill and bring them back to the Salvage Garage. My biggest issue is that I have no deep storage, since I do not have a forklift up there that can easily maneuver, I don't have any pallet racking and that is the biggest killer, I have tons of wasted vertical space. Even if I were to put a forklift in the shop, it really can't got from one bay to the other due to the 8" height difference of the floors.

I ultimately want the shop at the Hill to be for the vehicle/equipment repair (at least primarily) and the Salvage Garage can be heavy fabrication and storage. I would love to be able to marry those two setups together in one location, but at this point I have two obstacles, the Hill is the actual hill and the Salvage Garage is the door height, I think it is 11' 4" or maybe shorter, but I can't bring Perk inside or the FWD, or any of the box trailers. No matter what I inevitably run into an issue regardless of where I am. :(

And I quit plowing for the same reasons. All it does is tear things up, and it's usually gone the next day.

Sounds like you've been productive. Hope you can keep it up.

I really don't feel productive, I think I have done two days worth of work in the last two months. I am still not in the new office, my fault at this point, my elbow is still being a pain, literally and I have been working way too late getting way too little done. Tonight was the first time I felt like I accomplished something in the office, I need to go home, it is already 9PM, last night I got home around 2 AM, don't even know how that happened, got myself down a rabbit hole and Youtube wasn't even involved.......

Have you tried 3m cubitron grinding wheels, cut off wheels etc? More money but seem to last longer than other wheels I've used.

Strouty as the others already shave said you are making prog, might not be as much as without your injury hindering you but still progress. I like your Milwaukee tower setup.

Thanks for the motivation.

Walrus, I have used them, but haven’t had a bad experience with the SAIT ones, they are closer to $2 each, so I can use them up faster and still be ahead.

I moved the rack around and it fits tight, but I have some space over by the air compressor that I can gain.

Yes, it will relieve some of the tension that has been there, she has been stressed and it carries over to my side.

I still need to do the same thing for me, I still don’t feel like I have a dependable daily driver. I have been toying with the idea of just buying a new car myself. At this point it wouldn’t be until fall, will have to ponder that some more.

I am thinking of the spring auction, talked with one of the reps and they are having it in the same location again, have to start bringing things there April 10th, just not sure how ready I can be, a lot depends on what happens with the snow and then the frost. All the roads around the Salvage Garage are posted, the main ones don’t expire until April 15th, that means I really can’t haul anything in or out unless I get permission from the local road Czar. I have a few things in mind to send there, but I suspect that just like last spring, I won’t be able to get much out and ready to go. I will definitely give it a shot, there will be some things that are easy to get to, but others will take some serious effort.

I'm surprised you have any frost in the ground. I'm guessing we don't any here, and I doubt it was ever more than a foot deep. Just never stayed cold enough, long enough.

I don't think we do have any frost nor did we have much this whole season. The road I live in on has a culvert bump that will rattle your teeth(maybe wreck your front end) in the same place every year. I can not remember a year when it wasn't there come February into March. This year, nothing. Weird. On a bright note, parts of New Hampshire got 3 ft of snow, I got 5 inches or so

Pretty much every bit of snow we got is gone, I didn’t plow any of it either.

On a totally different note, I was being lazy today, thought about using a food app for dinner, I remembered that they added to the price of menu items, but wow. The delivery fee was almost $6, then the items that are $3 , were also just about $6, then you would have to tip the driver too. Guess I am cooking, I’m not that lazy.

Tuesday I have an appointment for my elbow, really hoping for a cortisone injection, maybe I can make those work for now, then deal with surgery next winter.

Nothing really to report, been laying low all around.

Hope the injections work. Wife went through them, so did the m-i-l... both found relief for quite a while.
We had our "surprise" cool snap... eh... laying low is a good thing.
