Just got some Westling trays, a Williams flex head ratchet and a 3/8” extension in the mail. Nice stuff.

I like Westling trays for work and my little cart in the garage. They aren’t as mobile as my Ernst rails but they are better when I just need to grab stuff and put it back quickly. No need to twist-lock. Plus if a guy at work needs to borrow something he just has to pull on the socket. I’ve had the dudes at work break so many Ernst clips trying to figure out how to get the sockets off.

Really digging the Williams. Head is a bit floppy so I’ll adjust the screw. It’s 36 tooth but it feels pretty smooth and I really like the feel of the handle. It’s hard getting sockets on though. That ball doesn’t want to flex in. LOL.
I am amazed how well the Westling's work!

No prob. Look on eBay. $18 with free shipping. Superior tool. New open box. Something like farm and home out of New Jersey.
I found it when you first mentioned eBay. “home-and-country-usa1” is the seller. I put it in my watch list, but will probably just go ahead and order now.

2 Ama, Malco.jpgmalco eagle grip locking pliers.
I’ve been biting my tongue as to not offend anyone in their choice of tool purchases, but what am I missing here? I agree these look absolutely beautiful in member’s photos, and are made in the USA, but they’re locking pliers! I’ve owned my share of locking pliers, original Vise Grip, Irwin Vise Grip, Pittsburg, Bremen, etc... for many years, and have never had the slightest of issues with any of them. They‘ve all performed exactly as intended! Never had I needed to replace, just added to my inventory. And I’m as for made in the USA as much as anyone else, but $40 to $50 for locking pliers? Wow! Do these lock and unlock themselves?

Edit: I just now did some research and discovered the Malco Eagle Grip pliers thread. I guess a thread about locking pliers just wasn’t on my radar. Without reading all of it, I scanned over enough to be aware of the rise and fall of their locking pliers production.

I don't really know. Everyone here says they're the cats, so I thought I'd get a few.

Just got another Zoro order in today along with a long overdue Wright order.

Surefire Intelibeam (FURY-IB-DF), Proto magnetizer/demagnetizer (J9888), and a 10-piece bit set in a "bit box" (J61901) from Zoro.

Wright screwdriver set (9476) from made-in-USA tools. These screwdrivers are almost exactly the same as the Channellock branded ones except the handles seem to have more grip. I normally prefer Acetate handles but these are really growing on me.

every single search of 9476 screwdrivers from Wright show acetate handles. How did you get those instead? I can't even find those on madeinusatools.com website

The picture in the tag on your set is even the red acetate handle screwdrivers that show up everywhere

I placed a huge order back in August of 2022 for a bunch of different Wrights sets that have been showing up every now and then. When these finally came today I was expecting the red acetate handles but was shocked to see these.

I think Western Forge was the manufacturer for the red handled screwdrivers but once they closed Wright had to find a new manufacturer. I have an email I sent in August to Jeff Hunter, who works at MadeinUSAtools.com, asking who makes the screwdrivers since Western Forge closed and he contacted Wright and got Mayhew as the response. I think if you place an order for Wright screwdrivers you will be getting these. If you get a set of the red ones I would be more than happy to buy them from you. When my 4 in 1 screwdriver came in it was red but plastic instead of acetate (I will post a picture of it tomorrow).

Link to this set https://madeinusatools.com/product/...-large-ergonomic-handle-w-pouch-1-3-3-16-3-8/

I hope this all makes sense, if not I will try to better explain it tomorrow.

I would rather have the red acetate set too.

You and me

Love my Westling Trays. I get the mobility issue but if you’re a guy like me who’s tools never the shop they are awesome.
Yes! At first, I wasn't 100% sold but as I work more and more out of my cart and have people borrowing stuff out of my box at work, I've come to really appreciate the simplicity of their design. I'm keeping my Ernst stuff for the sets I have in my box in the basement (mobility is key) and for all the odds-and-ends bit sockets and stuff, but my primary socket sets are slowly going to all be on Westling trays. I dig them.
I am amazed how well the Westling's work!
They are pretty awesome. They avoid the Hansen problems with the big pegs and they still keep the sockets on with some major movement and angles. Overall I really enjoy using them.

This is new to me this morning. My coworkers grandpa passed away a couple years ago and he inherited a toolbox. He really liked my Craftsman 75 tooth ratchet and he doesn’t like our Snap-on representative so he came to work today with this ratchet belonging to his grandpa and asked me if I would trade my Craftsman for the Snap-on and $10 and I said sure. This thing is locked up completely but it might just need a new grease job. If not I’ll have Snap-on warranty it. This guy doesn’t own a single Snap-on or any tool truck tool other than what his grandpa had which wasn’t much so he doesn’t deal with our rep at all and didn’t want too. This has a date code of what appears to be 1987 though to me it looks older than that. Model number TM70B and I’m happy cause I’ve been trying to get my rep to get me one this size but he never does. Shorter than any of my current 1/4 ratchets. The Craftsman I traded was a Chinese replacement I got for another Chinese one before Sears closed so I wasn’t using it. I grab any ratchet before that one.

So update. Cleaned and greased it up last night with Super Lube and she is working like new now. Now I’m more than happy with my trade. I think I’ll be adding this ratchet to the cart at work not the box.

Just left O’Reilly. I don’t really like shopping there but they are the only place that has these stubby 1/4 sockets for a good price. Plus my friend working there and my moms military discount gives me a good price. I bought me this second set of stubby metric 1/4 sockets to tighten down the pulley on the 2004 Camry. I have the same set at work. Use them everyday pretty much on something. Also got a long funnel for my sisters Honda Odyssey. Those things are a pain to put oil in because the oil filler is way down low compared to the top of the engine. Another reason I hate working on Honda lol. Metal funnels are generally easier to clean than plastic from my experience.
