A lot of items aren't being replenished. For example, I have not seen the Insider or the newer versions of it in-stock there for many months.

I'm looking for a t15 torx screwdriver,to replace one I lost, that's a pretty common item, I'd think?

I totally agree. Maybe shipments have stopped to Small Parts/Amazon for some reason?

PB 407 mini D-handle driver with T15 head is less than $1.50 right now.

Thanks for the tip. I just ordered a complete set of 8400 series swissgrip torx. Some were an amazing price while others were slightly cheaper.

You guys are following common Amazon cart tactics, right?

I've seen some PB Swiss tools go from dirt cheap to full price and then dirt cheap minus 10% or more.

Exactly what you said; same experience here.
I had items in the cart, returned the next day to find a few items back to "full" price, while another item simply went up 10 cents in price.

Hell, I've put items in my cart and immediately went to check out only to be notified "this item is no longer available." WTF? Someone had bought the last one right out from under me. Amazon did restock in just a couple days...

Makes you kick yourself when that happens I bet.

Amazon is a weird, unpridictable animal at times.

And I just made another order for just about every 215 series interchangeable bit PB Swiss makes along with the PB 8215 screwdriver set. Grand total was $102 for a handle and a complete set of blades. ***** I'm in Afghanistan and won't be able to check them out for a while.

Just a word of caution about that series. I've read that there's slop in the blade/blade retention in the handle. If you care about that sorta stuff, you may want to reconsider.

I have the 225 series interchangeable handle and shafts and they have a lot of slop.

Just ordered this.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001D8I636/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Not bad for $15. :bounce:

Its perfect for me because I prefer the multicrafts to the swissgrip anyway.

We shall see what I actually receive though. 6440C is 8-25 whereas the product description says 27-55. :headscrat

Oh well either way I couldn't pass it up.
Looks like it is a Torx set.

I had to buy a set. Less than $3 each per driver. Seemed to be a good buy, if at least for review purposes.

Yea I know it is the torx set. But is it 27-55 or 8-25. The part number is for the latter, but the product description says 27-55. :headscrat

Eh... it's only 12% off so ~$2. The free shipping is nice, but hardly a *must buy right now* in my book. I only eyeballed the 50%+ off stuff (save for the series 215 handle).

We'll see how I like the 215 series stuff (maybe it'll just be the road kit if it has a lot of slop). I did end up with some odds and ends to see which system I'd like best. If any of you guys are interested in trading, let's hear it.

BTW, Vinko, I found the trim 'wrenches' to be invaluable at getting the plastic pop rivets off of the E46. Both sizes. The list price has gone up since I bought them six months ago (lol), but the sale price brings them down to a few bucks less than I paid.

You do realize that Amazon's list prices are often bogus, right? In this case the list price is way, way wrong.

Count on Tools has that set listed for $59!

Yeah I saw it too so I was deleting the post but you got in first. Looks like amazon's goof again.
Yep. Looks like the list price was entered wrong as well.

Ah. The prices listed for the single tools seemed to match what Count on Tools was asking, thus I assumed.

Yah, but it is'nt that set pictured on amazon is it? From its written description and posters here I thought it was a torx set, right? I would love it if it was the Flat/Philips/Awl set pictured on Amazon. Still confused to what it is.:headscrat

Ignore the picture and look at the description: 6400/8, 9, 10, 15, 20, 25

Then look up the products included here.

Yes, it's a Torx set.

Then look at Amazon for the prices of the individual pieces.

Even heavily discounted themselves, the individual drivers would cost $28. $15 is a STEAL!

That PB Swiss torx set w/ rack is a deal!

I pieced together a Wiha torx set through Amazon for under $12. I wish I had a rack.

Like Stuey says, never go by the pictures Amazon provides. Always cross-reference the part # with the pbtool.us website for accurate pictures and retail price.

pbtools.us has the wrong pic as well, but the description of tools by model # included in the set makes sense.

Yeah, you're right indeed--they don't have a picture for every assorted set/kit they offer. So it's not always simple trying to figure out what exactly is contained in the set/kit when the description is simply codified by letters and numbers.

AH! you guys make me sick:mad:

Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S.:wtf:

Where in Canada are you? It shouldn't be too hard to run up a list of things you want, and see if one of the members wants to ship them to you (the expensive part).

Anyhow. Some of my stuff came in. As someone else predicted the 215 series handle has quite a bit of slop in it (and man does it smell something awful). I've certainly got some Chinese made drivers with less slop. The blades, however, look like pieces of art with the serial numbers and max suggested torque printed on them.

I suspect that the multicraft handles are the ones I'd really like, too bad they weren't on sale (and they don't make TORX Plus in anything but the SwissGrip handles anyhow...).

Question: There's a bit of variation I've noticed. Two of my TXP blades are a much bluer color (the TXP20 and T10, T15, and T20) are all a more standard color. Likewise the offset TORX drivers (T20 and T30) have different colored tips. Is there any significance to this?

(in any case the coated tips are finished *much* nicer than those Wiha drivers I bought and disliked)

@impulse: nice set. Were these all scored from the Amazon sale?

yep, i spent $75 total. Made one order then decided i had to have more a day later(love amazon's free shipping over $25) :lol_hitti

wish the sale would have some stuff i could use with multicraft handles. The swiss grips are awesome but i dont know if i could grease em up like i would a hard handle.

Probably a stupid observation but might as well ask it here. Don't you think that a company with such caliber as PB Swiss could not have designed this tool without slop?

Maybe they designed it to have that slop.

I like the Swissgrip handles. I don't have many and I haven't used them around chemicals or grease. But I'd sure like that torx set you've got. I don't need it though:) But for $75, that's pretty damn good. What sizes did you end up getting all told?

For grease, my hardhandles from SO have failed me a few times. The Instincts on the other hand (both hard and soft) are great.

No way. I hate slop/play and I was really dissapointed when I got my 225 series kit. I read user comments on the 215 and it's no joke, as blarf as confirmed it too, in this thread.

Regarding the difference in the shade of blue, it's probably due to inconsistencies in manufacturing process. ie. different run/batch.
