Finally have something worth mentioning.
Couple of weeks ago, made it up to a machinist sale that looked very interesting. By the time I got there, some of the items I was hoping for were gone, but... it turns out that pricing was set by "a buddy" who worked with him. So have a feeling that the items would have been overpriced anyways. Talking an Atlas 10" (missing most of the accessories, which were sold separately) for $2200, a Lindon vertical Jig Borer (labeled as a "Mill") for $2200, a Gingery-style homebuilt shaper for $450, etc.
Poked around and ended up with this pile for right at about $40. Probably overspent, but the two extra blades (one NOS) for the threading tool helped. Didn't see the price on the two tooling fixtures till checkout, and by then was committed. Not sure if the fly cutter is shop-made or not, but for $3, took a chance on it. Two tool-holders were $30, and the two cut-off bars were $4. Armstrong boxes were a nice extra. The large one is for the cutoff holder, and the smaller looks to be for some kind of small bits.
Last weekend, finally found a good deal. Cruising CL on Thurs. evening, and saw a level listed, $20. Recognized it and sent the seller a message, asking about possible pickup Sat morning. He replied, and we set up a tentative meeting. Sat morning, ad has been removed, so I cautiously messaged the seller. Still on, went and grabbed this Kinex precision level, in its original box, for only $20!! When I looked up the specs, it seems this resolves at half the resolution of a Starrett 199 Master Precision (this does .02mm/m, a 199 does .04mm/m, a 98 does .42mm/m), so probably more than I need! Slid a piece of paper under one corner and slowly saw the bubble slide from max one side to another...
Pics to follow in a sec.
