Barrel Pump Sticking

Barrel pump at work is sticking a lot. If it sits awhile, it gets really hard to crank. Once I break it loose, it works OK. Do I need to open it up and lube it? It doesn’t have a fitting for a grease gun.

What are you pumping? Is there something that could be fouling / crystalizing / gluing the innards together?

I'd pump a bit of solvent in a circle and see if that helps before opening it up

A soap solution called Memclean. We use it 2-3 times a week.

Well that might be your problem. That pump may not be compatible with your soap, especially if its water based.

I’ll have to read the label. I guess if it is water based, not much we can do. Should get a more suitable pump.

We use a very concentrated soap similar to purple power that is quite caustic. We have to buy all plastic pumps for it.
