EMT LB Body Through Wall To Panel

I am running some 1” EMT for a welding circuit. I am to the point where I need to pass through 7/16” plywood and then go up and into the bottom of my sub panel. I’m thinking that a LB body is best for this to pass through the wall and it will give me a spot to pull the wires. What would you guys recommend I do behind the wall? Flexible conduit of some sort? I would prefer to not remove the plywood if possible. Let me know what you guys would do to make this as clean as possible. Pics below for reference, I have not drilled the pass through hole yet. Thanks!

if it was me:

I'd use a 4x4 surface mount box. that would let me get a bigger access hole into the plywood that would be hidden by the box.

I'd cut the vertical section of surface mount lower a bit to keep it out of my sight line. bring the conduit into the side of the 4x4 then use a blank plate when all done.

from the back of the 4x4 surface mount box i'd use flex. either smurf or liquid tight.

i'd drag a bonding ground in the smurf tube/LT to the box/conduit just to be on the safe side.

Flex won't work as the radius is too tight. I use telephone 90's like this.

depends on wall thickness. i took that wall covering to be a pole barn so at least 6x6 if not 8x8 depth plus 2x girts.

So you add a coupling and a ****** to the male side and to the LB.

Then you cuss like a muthaFr getting that last #8 in and around the radius.

I like this a lot. Simple, no need for buying a bunch of extra conduit or figuring out fittings. Two NM clamps, 4' of romex by the foot, a box and a cover.

also you can snap the romex connector into the panel from the inside. much easier on the fingers.

I just install the clamp on the wire, feed it up to the panel and use my manly fingers to install the nut from inside the panel.
That is a clever approach. I am sure I’ll use that down the road - thank you. :)

I'm famous for dropping out of the bottom of the panel with romex to a single gang box, then putting a Raco 187 over the single gang and running EMT from there. The size of the single gang hole makes it a lot easier to get a hand in there and grab the cable.

The tales of your accomplishments are known the world over

Reading to write into the eletrical install tricks memory bank for future use. I plan on running EMT in the garage once we get a new feed and subpanel installed.

It's a method I have used myself, works great.

Another twist, used a Bell WP extension over a spare conduit & box to run conduit for a welder, little nicer looking then the four square extension.

I'd probably do a 4 11/16" box, easier to get that 1" pipe into it,and still have room for wires.
