I worked on cleaning the Bandit Shed for 8 hours today, if you guys saw how much rodent poop I had to shovel up you might say "You Idiot" instead of "You ****" LOL. No big finds today, I did turn up some more Williams 3/4" drive stuff which I'll post later. Sometimes you find some cool stuff that's not worth anything, these vintage van cruise in event plaques I found a few days ago are pretty neat! Also some photos of other stuff I have sorted out recently.

My garage sale post is a little different.

I'm having a sale Saturday, posted the ad LAST NIGHT, and I had someone show up unannounced today to "see the stuff I had for sale"

Talk about early bird.
Don't know where you are posting your sale but around here I have seen folks who post their sales on FB & CL increasingly saying they will only post the exact address like the evening before the sale starts due I'm assuming situations like yours. They are also increasingly saying no early sales and don't contact them.

A family run sale a couple weeks ago that I didn't attend but later discussed with a fellow tool hunter friend, well friend said all the regular tool hunters were their chomping at the bit for a shot at a pictured Wilton Baby Bullet vise but they were quickly disappointed to find out the family and sold it prior to the opening of the sale.

BTDT. Part of why I contact sales that are not from companies, to ask if they are pre-selling or not. Usually don't pre-buy, but tempers expectations

Estate sale ($10): Thorsen 1/2" socket set; Indestro socket set.

What I'm learning is that even if there is missing one piece (and they're not SnapOn or Mac) they basically have no resale value. The question then becomes how do I get rid of it? Goodwill, garbage...

A way to deter early birds is to advertise street, date and time but no number in the ad.

At the said time put your signs up and open the doors.

I've been tempted, when having a garage sale, to advertise "Early callers pay double". But what we have done is as humber2 suggested above, street name and time, but no street number.

I just found this site when looking for information on an old vise I got at an estate sale. I have been shopping yard and estate sales for years and my wife thinks I'm nuts! Cool to see so many others that enjoy the hunt also. In this picture I paid $36 for everything. Yes the Milwaukee works. The 500 ft roll of 12 awg stranded wire was $5!

I think this is my first post in this thread, and as vulgar as it sounds @bluebolt YOU ****!

I reckon the old timer that bequeathed the Bandit shed to your care would get a kick out the rifling through and a group a hawkers on the internet getting a huge kick out it, keep it coming 👍

Well the Bandit Shed is nearly cleaned out, I still have many boxes to sort through and some outside stuff to get. As I demolish the shed I'll try to save as much wood as I can. Yesterday I took apart wood shelving and saved the 2" x 4"s framing and 1" x 10" shelves. Unfortunately due to a roof leak I'll have to cut off about 1/3 of the shelf boards. I also hauled back this wall cabinet and gas welding rig.

Wow had to go back to the original post and what a haul. It's fantastic that you're salvaging down to the ground.

While not at the level of BlueBolt’s Bandit Shed, it’s pretty good for me. My brother was answering an ad for some vintage motorcycle helmets but noticed there was a lot of stuff in the background. When we arrived, we realized it was a complete home clear out. The deceased father had been a mechanic but there was no attachment to any of the stuff that was left in the house. There were tools all over the place. I told them I’d take it all but I didn’t have my truck and that I’d take more if I could go get it. I'll post more pics soon as I unload the bed.

What we came for…

Can't help you with make, especially on that side of the pond, but that is a gorgeous, incredibly distinct example with that spindle-like cross bar with ball stops. A work of art.
Cheers Pvt. I couldn't pass it up when I found it, and I truly did try! I left it for two days before I caved and put in an offer that was accepted.

Been re-organizing my garage to get rid of the (now significantly bowing) plastic shelving. Found some boltless metal shelves, but still needed a cabinet for my oils/gas/fluids/etc. Found this one on Facebook marketplace for $100. A bit pricey, but similar sized (36x18x76) cabinets are $300+ new.

Turns out, it's a Penn Metal Corp cabinet from the 40's-50's. All of the screws are flathead with square nuts on the back. I don't think it was originally on wheels, but a previous owner built a sturdy wooden base and attached 4 large casters (that work well!). Very happy with my new fluid cabinet!

I'm not sure I'll have time post everything, maybe just the highlights from each load. My brother called dibs on some of the stuff like a spark plug cleaner and some galvanized buckets. There were about 5 tool boxes we pulled out of the house, I'll post sorting through it in a bit.

Some Garland mallets, a Snap-on pick, a Utica punch, an old carbide scraper and some Roloc stuff… $22.
