Don't know where you are posting your sale but around here I have seen folks who post their sales on FB & CL increasingly saying they will only post the exact address like the evening before the sale starts due I'm assuming situations like yours. They are also increasingly saying no early sales and don't contact them.My garage sale post is a little different.
I'm having a sale Saturday, posted the ad LAST NIGHT, and I had someone show up unannounced today to "see the stuff I had for sale"
Talk about early bird.
That’s a good idea, when the signs go up, then they’ll know what house it is.I've been tempted, when having a garage sale, to advertise "Early callers pay double". But what we have done is as humber2 suggested above, street name and time, but no street number.
jb You definitely **** for that MINTY Wizard set! Very nice.Latest finds:
Delta bandsaw and sander $10 each
Sard (Square D) binoculars US Navy 1944 and Craftsman grinder $30
Carter and Holley carb books (about 4 inches thick) and Detroit diesel manual $10
Wizard 1/2" drive set $15
If your going to throw the thorsen away, you should throw it at me.
I need to have a driveway sale, so no hiding that. That’s a good idea, when the signs go up, then they’ll know what house it is.
Ya, it doesn’t work if you’re the only house on the street..lolI'm a little too rural for that too work unfortunately.
Well they may show up early, but they won’t show up the day before. Unless you set up the driveway sale the day before.I need to have a driveway sale, so no hiding that.
Wow had to go back to the original post and what a haul. It's fantastic that you're salvaging down to the ground.Well the Bandit Shed is nearly cleaned out, I still have many boxes to sort through and some outside stuff to get. As I demolish the shed I'll try to save as much wood as I can. Yesterday I took apart wood shelving and saved the 2" x 4"s framing and 1" x 10" shelves. Unfortunately due to a roof leak I'll have to cut off about 1/3 of the shelf boards. I also hauled back this wall cabinet and gas welding rig.

Good God! It’s a mother lode!!!While not at the level of BlueBolt’s Bandit Shed, it’s pretty good for me. My brother was answering an ad for some vintage motorcycle helmets but noticed there was a lot of stuff in the background. When we arrived, we realized it was a complete home clear out. The deceased father had been a mechanic but there was no attachment to any of the stuff that was left in the house. There were tools all over the place. I told them I’d take it all but I didn’t have my truck and that I’d take more if I could go get it. I'll post more pics soon as I unload the bed.
What we came for…
What we left with…
What we are coming back for soon...

Can't help you with make, especially on that side of the pond, but that is a gorgeous, incredibly distinct example with that spindle-like cross bar with ball stops. A work of art.Archimedes drill, in nice condition
I just found this site when looking for information on an old vise I got at an estate sale. I have been shopping yard and estate sales for years and my wife thinks I'm nuts! Cool to see so many others that enjoy the hunt also. In this picture I paid $36 for everything. Yes the Milwaukee works. The 500 ft roll of 12 awg stranded wire was $5!
Cheers Pvt. I couldn't pass it up when I found it, and I truly did try! I left it for two days before I caved and put in an offer that was accepted. Can't help you with make, especially on that side of the pond, but that is a gorgeous, incredibly distinct example with that spindle-like cross bar with ball stops.
