I like the Howard Leight Max corded for earplugs, & also have Howard Leight Impact Sport earmuff. Depends on what I'm doing but generally I reach for the earplugs first.

@Firebrick43, the wife has small ear canals so many of the higher/denser foam plugs bring discomfort and pressure. Those laser lites were the ones that were comfortable for her too. Some batches have been worse than others that they didn't expand very well. We've noticed that the foam density has changed over the years. Still the most comfortable ones for her.

Any one tried DeciBullz yet? These are custom molded ones, like I used to have at previous job, but you mold at home. I keep forgetting to mold them when times are easy, and remember them when I open the ear plug drawer to go do a job. Shredding branches soon. Maybe after tonight's shower I will fit them.

Never seen those but think I'm going to buy a pair. For under $30 they look great!

Had a set of custom molds made at an audiologist decades ago... musician & audio / concert production by trade. They were hundreds at the time & I think lost to the bowels of the NYC subway after a trade show.

I use both shooters muffs & plugs all the time. Even in a recording studio around drums & big Marshall amps...

Foam plugs are really only as effective as they seal, often not well. Muffs always seal up and are a lot quicker / easier to deal.

Custom fit plugs? They're like sliding into a great pair of shoes.
