Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S.

:(

It would potentially make sense to spend the $40 on everything you want, ship it to a US member, and have them ship it overseas.

I don't ship items individually. I have a box sitting in Illinois and when it's full they will ship it to me. So usually takes several months for me to get what I buy. Shipping alone takes a month by sea.

Received my torx set yesterday. Not bad for 15 bucks.

Just ordered some more to finish off the set. Plus if you are a college student you can now get Amazon Prime for free which means free two day shipping. No more waiting two weeks for the super saver shipping. :shocking:

I got the same set as BWright (it's out of stock now) and put some more PB Swiss on my wishlist when they arrived. Quality.

Did anyone get the 19" pry/jimmy bar for like $22 bux!? The regular price was untouchable for me, but at that blowout price, I just had to. Swedish spring steel can't be had for this cheap!

How about their dead-blow hammers? I've been thoroughly impressed with their smaller one (#3) with the wooden handle--it sure packs a punch relative to its size and weight. So, I decided to pick up their largest one (#7). Due to its size/weight and forseeable useage, I decided to get it in their fiberglass version for extra protection.

I believe those are for the nuts that have a round head. I think of them as cap nuts or finishing nuts. I usually find these on things like bbq grill, gym equipment, floor lamps, etc.

I got a couple of scribes for a buck or two a piece. Nice.

I wish I would've gotten the full torx set when I could. A lot of stuff that was $3 and under is no longer at that price. But there's always another time, another deal :rocker:

I'd love to hear if someone has put the punches to the test, vs. Starrett and others.I know a machinist who swears by the chisels.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a regular slotted screwdriver on rounded nuts?

What are the specific applications for rounded nuts?

Thanks,

Dave

Is this slotted nut the same as a round nut? Any other pics? tks

Probably a flat tip can be used here if you don't need the bolt end to be flush to the nut top.

PB named them screwdriver for "Schlitzmuttern" on the german page. The english page says "Screwdrivers for round nuts" (# PB 196)
Wiha named them screwdriver for "Schlitzmuttern" on the german page and screwdriver for "slotted nut" and "slotted nut driver" on the english page (# 305). So they seem to be identical - different names for the same stuff.

Looks like Amazon has now sold out of most of the desirable PB Swiss stuff, or jacked the prices back up. I think the sale is winding down.

I ordered a couple pozidriv drivers last week, as well as some other items that were priced right. They finally arrived today (free supersaver shipping). I got everything in the photos for $36, which is a decent deal.

The #2 driver is very nice. The handle on the #1 is small (diameter). But it is pozidriv which, for me, means I'll use it once in a forever. I do have pozidriv #2 screws in my kitchen cabinet hardware.

Ball-end torx are something I didn't know existed. But now I have a full set of them. The three loose Wihas in the middle are miscellaneous items that priced out at about $3 each so I couldn't pass them up.

Those ball end torx look nice, I'd like to get some of those for when I need to work on HP plotters. they use torx and some can be awkward angles.

Did anyone else load up on screwdriver blades without handles? I bought multiple sizes for something like $1.08 each and several screwdrivers that I thought came with detachable handles. Unfortunately they did not and I can't seem to find handles for them, except in sets. At this point I have more PB Swiss hand tools than anything else!

The following handles will work with the interchangeable blades: PB 215 A, PB 7215 A, PB 8215 A, and PB Swiss 8215 A ESD.

I prefer the PB Swiss 8215 A (Swiss Grip). I found it on PB Swiss' US site which is run by Count On Tools. It's only $6.40. They also run monthly specials as well.

I have a number of the 225 series blades now, holder is $16. Most that I bought are the "generic" 4mm size, but also a few of the 215. Nicely made, not so bright my buying without the handle. I figure sooner or later I will find a deal on either a handle or a set with a handle.

Ball end stuff is handy, but nothing I would trust much torque with. For torque at an angle I have several types of pivot bit holders.

Danglerb, I did the same as you. Bought 225 blades. Thanks for the heads up that the PB Swiss 225 hinge handle is only $16 on Amazon, I've been watching them on PB Tools for $47+. Just pulled the trigger. HUGE thanks for the alert.

Which 225 blades did you guys get?
I would stay away from all PH/PZ/Flat blades. You'd be frustrated with working on those bits with the original hinge handle that it was designed for. As you work the handle, the blades will wobble at the retention joint. The machining at that joint isn't done with close telerances. To add to that, the hinge joint handle doesn't have any sort of locking feature. What that means is that when you drive your fastener down with forward force, as we always do, the handle will have the tendency to hinge, when you don't want it to. .....it akin to the frustration you get when working with a wobble-plus extension.

Results may vary if you get the other fixed-handle types though. ...and I don't know if PB has fixed the wobble/play at the retension joint. I purchased my set more than an year ago.
