What was the price? If you don't mind saying. I thought about building one for a winter project.
She wanted $300, but she said it was negotiable. I figure would have got it for around $150 -$200. I went onto facebook marketplace and they're actually more common than you think. I guess, they don't become obsolete, wear out or left outside to deteriorate and as such they just get pushed to the back of the garage waiting for the right person at the right time.

Garage sale ($10): Color C lector (NIB); GTD Little Giant 14" offset wrench; Cincinnati Tool no. 540 8" c-clamp.

To use the C lector the angler drops the probe into the water and based upon water clarity the c lector will c lect the correct color lure for that water condition.

Michigan And Florida too!
Stopped into a ReStore for the first time ever today. Found these two Stanley braces, no sign of bits for either.

First one was marked Stanley and No 966 - 8 inch. No other brand, dates, etc.

Second had a ratcheting bit holder and was marked Stanley and No 945 - 10 inch. No other brand, dates, etc.

Any idea of the age or value of these? Ebay prices seem to be all over the place. I'm not a flipper, just curious about them.

Mike

(Edited to add pics...)
I see them frequently for under 5-10 bucks that seem in decent shape. I have two Stanleys and a nicer Millers Falls. Granddad and Dad amassed a bucket of bits that are still in good shape. I rarely bust one out to use.

Estate Sale ($50):

Nice to find all the SK stuff. I was digging through the misc sockets and found a Snap-on and decided it was worth continuing to dig. Was discarding the SK sockets, but kept finding them so against my own advice scooped up all the misc sockets and... might as well pull the wrenches. Who would have thought a full set of sockets and case would emerge. Going to go back and see if I can't complete the 1/4" set and the missing wrenches.

Pic 1 -- SK Tools: 3/8" deep sockets (3/8, 5/8, 11/16, 3/4, 13/16"); 1/4" socket set with deep and shallow sockets, universal socket, swivel breaker bar, extensions (6, 2") and ratchet (incomplete); Set of 3/8" metric sockets (7-18mm); 3/8" swivel breaker bar; 3/8" ratchet, set of metric combination wrenches (7-15, 17, 19mm).

Pic 2: Snap-on: Screwdriver; Deep socket (3/4, 5/8"), 3" extension; Swivel socket; Sliding handle T-breaker bar; Klein Tools 922-20 20' tape measure; Impakdriver; Misc. Sockets; Indestro 5" extension; Wizard 10" extension; None Better 18" swivel breaker bar; 11" Herbrand extension bar; Stanley Bell Systems ratcheting bit-brace drill; Bonney 8" swivel breaker bar; Plvmb Philips screwdriver; Xcellite 5/16" socket driver; Proto screwdriver.
snap2.jpeg
28x6x3/4" Steel plate; Set of drill bits; mallet; Stanley handyman plane; Makita 9207 SPB buffer; Raincoat

Hit two yard sales and the flea market today. Spent more than I normally do, $51.50 total. I do have a couple of questions.

The first question is about these Kennedy stacked boxes. One missing the inside label and the other one with an obscured label. Can anyone tell me the model numbers from the photo?
YS923em.JPGYS923em.JPGwhv1em.JPG
The other things I picked up were:
2 Bonney wrenches
2 SK wrenches
A Sparta wrench
A Wizard punch
A large IVY brand screwdriver
7 SK sockets
2 Craftsman sockets
1 Indestro socket
16 Snap-On sockets
And last a Western Hardware ExcelAll 400 Vise which I also have questions about. I will post it in the Vise thread also.

Not many sales today but did find this enderes tool co anvil. The face doesn’t look like it’s seen an hammer. A brand new in the bag LL bean Maine guide parka for $20 they retail for $270! It’s a little big but I couldn’t pass it up.
You ****!!
Estate Sale ($50):
You definitely ****!!

The Sweetheart logo on your brace is the third in the series of three. Stanley used it from 1923 until 1935.
We’re going to be on the other side of the tables tomorrow. Hope to thin the herd
Me too! I fell into a yard sale my neighbor down the street was putting on. She welcomed neighbors to bring their wares to sell. Some of you may remember the instant collection of 36 monkey wrenches I got a couple of years ago. They've been sitting in my garage since then and I took the opportunity to let the masses enjoy them for $5 apiece (after holding back five of my favorites). I also brought down my old Chinese Vise I've had for years (and that I long since replaced with a Wilton) and three small open screw swivel base vises. (L-R: Belknap Hardware Co. No. 312 Cyclone, Columbian D63 1/2, Fuller (BF Japan), Chinese 5"). All sold except the Belknap.

Vises.jpg

Finally, I have been tripping over a Columbian Hardware Co. leg vise in my garage for the last two years. Earlier in the week I had spiffed it up with the intention of placing it on FBMP. I had no real hope that it would garner much interest at the yard sale, but a neighbor further down the street thought it would look good in her front yard with flowering vines growing on it. She didn't want to "offend" me after I had restored it and asked if I had one that was still rusty. I told her it wouldn't offend me (especially if she was willing to pay a near-ebay price for it) but I tried to impress upon her the likelihood of it being stolen from her front yard. She and her hubby discussed other indoor options and, against my warnings, decided to go for it. He had picked out a couple of monkey wrenches so I threw those inColumbian Hdwr. Co Leg Vise.jpg.

There was a tool sale listed at a location in S Lake Tahoe I’ve been to many times. My neighbor and I headed over to check it out and we both bought a few things. Here is what I brought homeIMG_0330.jpeg
A variety of Thorsen, old and new.
IMG_0332.jpeg
The 8” Ridgid pipe wrench was made in 1940. It still showed it’s original black paint.IMG_0336.jpegIMG_0335.jpegIMG_0333.jpeg

We’re going to be on the other side of the tables tomorrow. Hope to thin the herd of excess furniture, duplicate ice chests, clothes, and some box lot tools that weren’t the target when I bought them.
So, after a 15 hour day, we netted $800. Sold some stuff, but not the big bulky items we were hoping to move.

Sold a few good tools at asking price, Workmate 200, Craftsman 4-1/2" vise, sold the box lot extras to a flipper for less than I wanted, but they are gone. Made a few contacts to talk about more tools in the future.

Had two females come thru, talking or texting their partner, and buying tools in their behalf, which gave me a chuckle, cuz MLW has scored some nice deals that way.

Sold my collection of past FWW magazines cheap, since I now have them in CD, and the guy was passing them on to his son.

Creepy dolls did not sell. A few of my older out of my style shirts did sell.

Now I need a nap. Big free pile in front of the house, and a large pile that needs to come back in. Some stuff will go to Alameda in November for you locals, tools and MCM stuff mostly.

That Burpee clock and basket is really cool. I'm jealous of those SK combos too.

You get the big **** for that haul.

I'm jealous, I don't see a lot of the plomb/proto la stuff in the Midwest.
I hear you. The guy who sold me the tiny Plomb box is a reseller. I might have bought his entire Plomb offerings. Thankfully I wasn't carrying that much money on me. 😆

One "sale" today a Facebook Marketplace ad that I contacted last Monday. I offered to pick up later that day but was rebuffed with "someone is coming this evening to pick up" on the 18th, so imagine my surprise when FBM notified me of a "change" to the listing on Sunday afternoon, the only thing that I recall may have changed was the addition of the drive size (3/8"), so a quick message and I picked this up this afternoon, I had assumed after no contact the item had been picked up last week. Several pieces appear unused.

So ragtopta and I send each other random care
packages in the mail a few times a year. I just got mine and since it’s all from swap meets,
I’m posting it here!

- various Proto bits including a screwdriver key chain
-p&c scraper and ford fuel filter housing socket
-really cool defiance utility knife. I don’t know anything about defiance but would definitely like to learn more
- super cool double angle adjustable wrench. It has absolutely no markings on it. Anyone recognize it?
- Texas leather drink coaster
- buckeys churro pretzels which my 10 year old son is currently inhaling. We don’t have buckeys here in the pnw.
- alpha palm ratchet

So ragtopta and I...
And here I thought I was the special one! (Actually, lately I've been thinking I pissed him off trying to guilt him into inventorying his Letter-Letter code Plombs. You be the bad guy and lean on him from now on.) :) He's a good picker and his pickins' are always good in the wild down there in north central Tejas. He is sorely missed in these here parts.

You will find a few Baxters down on the VB, including on my '1899 Metal Worker Challenge' thread as well as the 'Oddfellows' thread because of the strange way the screw reciprocates. Baxters open and close ingeniously more akin to machinists' parallels than a wrench.

Congrats!

Thanks! I had no clue the wrench was that old but it’s pretty cool for sure. In terms of ragtop he is a great picker and we have similar tastes so we enjoy sending care packages back and forth!
