I cannot endure temptation of this magnitude! I'll give it to morning before I decide whether to get them or not. Hopefully they'll sell out before then so I won't have to decide!

hahaha, same. My pb swiss black/gold multicraft set will be here tomorrow though  (i had the same method to my temptation as well :spit:)

The set was $21.08 when I went to bed, and jumped back up to $40 this morning. Last night there were 3, today there are 2, so one additional purchased sparked the price change.

*whew* saved $21 bucks. BUT I still have my eye on the gold MultiCraft set.

I saw it too and almost pulled the trigger myself. The $21 bucks price kicked in after the 3rd set was purchased and lasted about 5 minutes before jumping to $40.

I was not sure about Witte quality because I've never had one. I was leaning more towards a Wiha or PB Swiss set.

the good folks over at Epsteins have a deal on a usa made Williams stubby metric wrench set for $52.50. the sizes are 6, 8-19.

http://store.harryepstein.com/cp/WilliamsD/WLMSTBY.html

imo, this is a good deal. i literally was about to buy the snap-on 10-19 set this week for $300. instead i got this williams set, along w/ other tools that i will chop up to make spcialty tools or to complete sets i already have and still have 200 bucks to blow. so in that regard it is a really good deal for me.

GearWrench flexible hex key sets $11.97 at my local Sears Hardware. This may not be the case at all Sears locations but if you want a set it wouldn't hurt to check. Retail for $29.99.

Went to Sears today to see about getting a nail set warrantied, which they did. Looking around for deals and a set of roll pin punches I found they had GearWrench flexible hex key sets on clearance for $14.99. I saw someone else on GJ had a set and thought they'd come in handy. I picked up a set of SAE and Metric. After paying on my way out to the truck I thought the total seemed off. So I checked once I got in the truck. They rang up $11.97 per set. These sell for $29.99 per set on Sears.com.

the stubbys and the rest of my order from epstein came in today. they look identical to the snap on set but are industrial satin finish, not chrome like snap on. for a savings of 270 and the addition of 3 more wrenches, i can deal.

here are comparison pics--sorry for lack of quality, cell phone

I saw these in my local store too (TX) but I hesitated.
They were marked $14.97

Take it to the register to see if it rings up at $12.
That's what I'm going to do.
Make sure all of the hex keys are in it. I saw some with missing keys.

I bought some this morning for 14.97. They weren't marked so i took them to a scanpoint and saw the 14.97 price. Half off so I bought them.

When I bought them they were marked $14.97 not $14.99 like my post above. However they rang up $11.97. Had to go back today for an angle finder and took a quick look around. Even at $14.97 that's 50% off.

I picked up both as well, frustratingly it took driving to three Sears stores to do so. Used the old open a Sears card trick and got those and a pack of Chinese prybars for $20 total.

I saw those GW hex keys but still haven't the slightest clue why they would be needed or how they would be used? What is the benefit of these over std. hex keys/t-handles? Is it because you can put it in a drill?

The length for one compared to std L shaped hex keys. The flex joint also makes them a lot more comfortable to use. And tight spaces will be easier to get to. Never thought about putting them in a drill but I guess you could do that too.

Re: Milwaukee Router Bits, $5 & $10

I hate you, I just bought 17 bits.

I showed a little more restraint and only bought 6 - enough to get the Super Saver shipping. I went with the basics: straight, round and v-groove. The straight will be replacing some cheapie chi-com stuff I bought 15 years ago (Damn! I'm getting old!).

I figure I'll use the four biggest ones (8, 10, 1/4, 3/8) on brake jobs instead of using a breaker and ratchet use those and the ratchet or just the hex keys. The little ones, who knows. With under $14 invested in them (I got 10% off one at $12 in NJ and $10 off one at $12 in PA) I think they'll make it up to me in a few minutes.

$3 Voltage Tester

Got this as a backup for my Fluke model which looks very similar. I like the idea of having two voltage testers and making sure they agree...

Paid $3 to the seller, and .28 to Schwarzenegger.

Wait, what? Made in Taiwan Estwing pry bars? They used to STRONGLY promote their made-in-USA ideals. So much for that. I wonder if this is a result of Lowes dropping Estwing products from their shelves.
