If it's a working garage, exterior semi-gloss.
Flat and eggshell are good for inside the house, though.
....If you are planning on stripes-the Frog Tape is worth the extra pennies IMO....
My walls are white already, but I am getting ready to freshen them up.
I sorted all the cans of white/or darn close to white I have and found an almost full gallon of white at my folks house. My plan is to grab a clean 5 gallon pail and a couple autobody supply paint funnels and pour them all into the 5 gallon bucket, guessing I have close to 4 gallon and figured I'll buy a fifth gallon and pour it into the pail and start painting.
Should give me plenty of paint to recoat over white but the sheen will be a bit of mystery. Of course if I ever have to match it I am screwed.
What part of the PNW are you? If you are in Portland, get Metro Paint. Its the best bang for the buck, especially for garage use. Its a blend of recycled paint, both interior and exterior. Its around and eggshell sheen, and is very durable.

I'm in Forest Grove. Where can I check out this Metro Paint?
