Sorry I have been neglecting everyone, I was over hanging out with Jackstand for a while.

I did make a deal on the big forklift, it isn't rated quite as high as anticipated, but close. It will pick 27,850 pounds 24" on center up to 160" high. It has a Detroit 4-53 diesel engine with a 3 speed automatic transmission. Side shift works, brakes are a bit touchy and will stick if you jam them on, main ram leaks a little and only one of the tilt cylinders functions (the other is disconnected). The one tilt cylinder that works needs to be rebuilt as it has been overloaded a few too many time (been doing the work of two rams for a while), it bypasses fluid and the mast tilts forward pretty much instantly. I ended up paying $9k for it, I think that is a great deal for a lift this size, the tilt cylinders will both get rebuilt ASAP, the main lift cylinder isn't that bad, I left the forks up in the air and they didn't appear to move for the 20 minutes I was there looking everything over. There are a few other things that will need to be addressed, nothing major.

The bad news, the heavy duty electric forklift has a junk battery, it has voltage, but has no capacity. I will continue on with the original plan of scraping what I don't need from it. I am going to measure my Dad's trailer and see if it will work, he says I can use both the truck and trailer to pick it up.

Looks like Dad’s trailer should work, worst case I may have to take the pins out of the mast and lower it further, but if I am only an inch or so it will be fine. I am going to start moving stuff around up at the Hill, need to get some things out of the way to make the scrap process go smoother. I expect to start hauling things out next week.

Last night I spent a couple hours cleaning up the wood shop, had to cut my plywood for the Conex shelving, the big pieces are all cut to size, next thing is to mark out the corner notches and use the jigsaw to trim them. After that, I think I can actually start putting stuff on the shelves? Might have to revisit the layout a little and then bolt the legs to the floor, but really close to being able to use it rather than having it laugh at me every time I walk by.

I use my Apple Watch as an alarm, the alarm I had stopped working when the watch was updated a few weeks ago, annoying. The company that made the app offered a paid version that included an updated alarm, I bought it, but the alarm is so convulatrd it is driving me crazy. I just want to make my own app, set it on the phone and have it vibrate the watch progressively more if you don’t shut it off. I don’t understand why everyone has to package an alarm with all kinds of bs sleep tracking or some other ****. :(

We made it to 700, the tank is 42 gallons, but I have never put anything more than high 30s in it, even at 40 gallons, that is 17.5 MPG and it was not a straight trip, I can’t wait to do a real road trip. Once I fill it I will report back on actual mileage, might not be until tonight, I am headed with the ramp truck to one of the tower sites to clear some brush around a propane tank, then on the way back I am finally picking up the ramp for the camp, it arrived a few weeks ago, for the second time, don’t want them to accidentally sell it again.

I really need to clean the Blurb, you don’t realize how dirty it is until you wipe some away. ;)

I kind of knew that being at this site was going to turn into more work, had to check over some things, unplugged a non paying customers radio system, pretty sure they went out of business and abandoned the equipment, I figure someone will either show up and hook it back up or not.

Propane tank is in there, really.

They wouldn’t deliver because it was too overgrown, now they probably won’t deliver because they can see the state of the tank.

Sleep is overrated. ;)

Two loads and my mess is cleared up, still need to cut trees out of the compound, but I need more time and a better saw for that. Will be some other day. So far no one has shown up to plug the radio equipment back in, I will have to check on it later this week, if it isn’t plugged in by the end of the week, it definitely isn’t active anymore.

That brush was around the tank was nuts.

So someone was renting tower use and they stopped paying? What were they using the tower for? Yes I know for radio transmission... type of business. I just assumed they were used for cellular businesses.

What will happen to this equipment?

The customer dealt with 2-way radio systems, they had radio equipment that construction companies and other firms would use instead of cellular.

I am not sure, but I think it may be their tank, I am going to have to check into that before I waste my time painting it.

I will need to get back there and finish things before the snow flies, I have way too much to do, more work, less sleep! ;)

The ramp truck is about the perfect height for loading and or unloading things from the Muv-All.

I am now at my Buddy’s place to help remove a knuckle boom crane from one of his customer’s trucks. I guess it is getting a new frame rail, thank you salty winter roads. Then we have to load some scrap from his place to go to the scrap yard. Prices dropped like crazy the second I started prepping to scrap things. :(

Anyone else having issues with posting pictures? They post above my text no matter what and I either have to cut and paste the text or insert the images individually. It just started a couple days ago.

That truck came from a recent auction, the crane works but they paid almost $10k and it has several issues.

I have a few errands to do before heading to the auction,, after that I am going to finish loading scrap at my Buddy’s place.

I bought some stuff, even bought a once in a lifetime purchase. I don’t know how much I paid though, I came in on the tail end and might have actually paid double what I thought I was paying. Sometimes they do each, sometimes per lot. Either way, I won’t ever be able to buy these again.

As far as I can tell, they are probably from the late 1800s, the company was local and has been gone for over 100 years.

Let me know if you are trying to unload the snowblower lol. Sounds like we may be in for a rough winter, and I figure if I buy one, we'll get no snow.

Bollards .... to tie down a forklift!!! Or a payloader!!

Or in practical terms (does that apply here??) they could be used at the cabin at the lake... tie the row boat up. LOL

Regardless, I think they're pretty neat!

I could see the snowblower being mounted onto the front of a payloader.... hint hint!! Or on the front of Clark, not sure if you have enough hydro power to spin it tho. (i.e. may need a hi-flow pump)
