Thats the best way. Linemans pliers with two hands and work your way aroiund the cable. (Hacksaw.I don't suppose there is a way to cut 1/0 AL wire with anything other than a $100-200 cable cutter?

FWIW, I'm planning on using a Polaris block like this one: https://www.zoro.com/polaris-insulated-multitap-connector-162-in-w-ipl10-3b/i/G4119254/Upon repair, I would not splice 3 conductors together. Instead splice onto the end of the 1/0 and into the center of the other conductor used to feed the 2 poles on the fuse block.....it's one less splice and the amount of material to compress in the split bolt connect is less.
It seems like it is actually made from aluminum...
Hacksaws work just fine.I don't suppose there is a way to cut 1/0 AL wire with anything other than a $100-200 cable cutter?
I didn't actually see, but when I unwrap the other one I can check. The Al/Cu conductors were separated by the bar - right?
That's what the bar is for, but once you switch to Polaris connectors, it's no longer important.I didn't actually see, but when I unwrap the other one I can check.
Whats wrong with a hacksaw?Thats the best way. Linemans pliers with two hands and work your way aroiund the cable. (Hacksaw.)
Thanks for the feedback! Everytime I open this system I learn something new.If you're splicing 1/0 it needs to be TIGHT with two wrenches.

Thanks!Considering the current, I'd Torque it, but don't loosen and retighten. That requires cutting the wire back
