S/O loaner rat
This may be self explanatory, but just incase it's not. Could you briefly explain what these were for? Or I guess what are circumstances that resulted in the "loaner" marking on that? And is it just ratchets or were there other tools like that as well?

Cross posted from the "growing DBE" thread.

After a long wait a set of six metric Snap-On XM "Boxocket" flank drive DBE's came up for sale on ePay. Probably over paid at $179, but single wrenches in lesser condition usually sell for around $25-$30 each with shipping. No date codes found on these, but I suspect from the early to mid 1970's. Something about round handle wrenches that fits my hands and just feels right to me. IMO, much more comfortable than the "butter knife" handles almost every manufacturer uses today. Already had a 1950's set of round handle Blue Point XD (Snap-On XDH) fractional DBE's from 3/8 to 3/4 in full polish. These will be users, but cheater pipes and hammers won't be found anywhere near them. Also included in this set but not shown in the pics is an XM1214.

My end of a Snap-on trade with beatcad arrived yesterday. These two pieces were found together but the breaker has ‘45 markings looking like part of the part number. The extension is a nice ‘44 dated example. I’ll need to see if the extension is an upgrade to my existing ones.

The "T" was added. So in 45 they converted a 9/32 to a 1/4. Then finding a 44 may be difficult if not impossible.

Thanks. I’m voting for impossible. 😉 Here are some comparison pictures. The 1945 9/32”drive breaker is on the top. These are all dated 1945.

I decided to go with the extension from beatcad since the finish on the other 1944 cad plated extension is compromised. IMG_1568.jpeg

Blue Point Snap on Bearing Race Remover would date close to 45. BR15/BR16
The only factory markings are some foundry marks. no name, no model number.. about 24 inches.
Hammer looks the same as current models. Threads are 3/4-10C. In about 48 they were changed to 3/4-16FIMG_6962.JPGIMG_6963.JPG

Those hacksaw blades are awesome!
I have to agree. Best I have ever found.
Decades ago when I discovered them I bought several packs, and have had a secret stash of them hidden away for my personal use ever since! I keep a 'decoy' hacksaw with an old worn blade in it hanging above the vice, just in case any young hot shot thinks that if they grab my saw they will be able to cut steel as easily as I can..

Got this a few hours ago. Snap-on guy picked it up at one shop, went next door to his next stop and a guy bought it, then he posted it and I bought it. So it changed hands 4 times in a couple days.

I was thinking all of the boxes with these chrome handles had the chrome cursive Snap-on badge. Are these tail end of the black square badge era when they switched to the new handles but hadn't switched badges yet?

Anyone know the part numbers? Is the top box the most drawers you could buy at the time?

All the drawers slide like butter. Amazingly smooth.
