I'm going through the whole stash, one at a time. The ones that appear to have some value over about $40 are going up on eBay. The rest are going into storage for my Christmas decoration idea for next year. IDeally, I'd like t have about 140 caps for the decoration,and to have sold the rest to be net zero on the acquisition costs of all the hubcaps (currently about $450).

Figured I better get this in before the year runs out! I went north across the border to pick up a Beach roller cabinet and combine a family visit up there. The seller advertised “and assorted tools” with grainy pictures of some pretty rusty, full buckets.

The toolbox was already a fair price especially with the exchange rate, so I was pretty chagrined to see all that was hiding in there. Although some was rusted and abused, there are a lot of great surprises!

There’s some Gray Canada, Italian and German pliers, Stanley brace, Proto 1-1/2” wrench, vintage Husky USA breaker and extension, but the real heart is the Snap-on haul along with an early Cheney hammer and Swedish Hults Bruk hatchet.

Here’s an S831 flex ratchet that cleaned up great and runs smooth, plus two 24” extensions and old hard handle screwdrivers.

Both screwdrivers and the 3/8” extension are marked Snap-on Canada, which is cool.

The hatchet will need some work but the hammer is in surprisingly good shape!

Last little find for me on the year. Wasn't expecting much, so I wasn't disappointed.

Top to bottom:
Duro Chrome 83 -- 1/4" ignition
Indestro Super 892 -- 13/64 & 15/64 ignition
Long C CM Vanadium DOE I thought I needed for my Crackle Blue AC 4375 chest
Proto LA Pebble DOE, well marked on the back by PO ED MAYER
Wood Handle Screwdriver -- Ferrule stamped NON SKID No.5, & Patent No. 1,738,405. (Granted 3 Dec 1929; Manufactured by Bridgeport Hardware Manufacturing Co.) It still has some of the non-skid groves on the tip.

In twelve or so years I have never been fortunate enough to run into one in the wild and I don't recall seeing one on the BHM thread, either. FYSA, there are some beautiful ads introducing it in the 1930 BHM catalog, on pages X and XI of a 4-page insert, between pages 40 and 41. Please post in the BHM thread and if you have trouble finding the ads, I will follow up tomorrow when I return home to my references.

Well done! Closing out the year with a find of truly uncommon proliferation, style and quality!

...and in regards to dead vermin, ooof it's the stink that holds me back from going all away to the back -- that and a bit of arachnophobia.

Hmmmm....I think you are right.
The SK similarity didn't register with me until you mentioned it

I initially thought those Napa combos were in the Danaher family

So you might be wondering what this other trophy is? Well it combines both my sense of humor as well as my garage pursuits into another "minimalist" appearing trophy. It is a Ridgid shop vacuum nozzle painted in a rustoleum color very similar to craftsman power bronze that I used on my drill press base. I thought the vacuum nozzle was funny because vacuums do "****". Also another humerous function of that nozzle is that it has a light built into it. Bmw can use this when he is picking in those dark/dank garages and basements looking in those otherwise unexplored nooks and crannies we mentioned yesterday when he won POTY.
