Some goodies from Amazon Japan: Merry electrical disconnect pliers, Makita XGT light, KTC hose clamp pliers.
Have you had an opportunity to use either of the new pliers? I have been eye balling both especially with the uptick of maintenance that is going on with one of the vehicles of late.

I have not used the Merrys yet. The KTC hose clamp pliers are my second pair. I have the larger size (AE931) and have found them to be very useful. They are a bit big to get in to certain areas, so I bought these (AE932) for the smaller size and angled jaws.

I have both of them and they work great - when they fit the space you're working in. I only have the 932s on the hose clamp plier; obviously on rare occasion nothing will fit but the cable operated pliers.

I wish that Merry made a set of tips with right-angles for the electrical connector pliers, but I bought a Lisle tool with right angle tips. Yes, I'm sure I could make a set of tips out of some bent nails, or whatever, but I can't be the first person that needed the right-angle tips.

You can order the SEK Pro Auto models from a US seller following the info in this video from Chris Cas.

I own all 3 sizes and they were about $10 cheaper each then what you paid for those BGS models.
You guys are getting these from Idaka? I don’t see where hand tools brand they carry are listed. This looks more like industrial machines and machine tools. I’ll need another set of hands for how many ratchets I already have, but those SEKs are my favorite. This thread continues to drain my bank account lol

Sweet good to know on the size difference. I suspect those will end up showing up before long. I have another heater system overhaul in the future.

Good to know on the Merry's. I have been eyeing the Lisle as well. I have been working on a 28 year old truck lately and it needs as much as I can offer with old connectors and hose clamps for that matter.

This is the Lisle that I have. I haven't needed to use them yet, but they seem fine upon examination. And of course they have that Lisle budget price, so how can you not buy them? Especially as a GJ member??? :ROFLMAO:

Looks like the Ko-ken deep and semi-deep nut grip sets are now up for direct sale:

They're doing 25% all nut grip stuff this weekend with code "NUTGRIP". Works for the nut setters mentioned earlier too.

I just had these show up, but I don't know what the sliver clips are, and I don't find them in the description of the set online. These are the Koken RS14301X/10. Koken Sockets.jpg

how's that compare to pricing on palmac with the whatever the best code is? a mrsubaru code maybe.
They will probably be a little cheaper when they show up there. Last time I used it Mrsubaru5 took 10% off at Palmac which came out to about 30% less than the Ko-ken USA price, but you have to spend $199+ to get free shipping.

I placed an order with Palmac about a month ago and the MrSubaru5 also gave me 10%. I didn't even bother to check the Koken USA pricing as I had in the past and it wasn't even close to Palmac. I did have to pay shipping, but I think it was about $15, which was basically offset by the discount on a ~$150 order. I know, I'm weak, I couldn't find another $50 worth of tools to buy :ROFLMAO: . But I did try, and most of that was already included in my $150 order.

I'm not huge into how things are packaged, but DRPD is the best in the business for sure @billspreston

Got individual 1/2" drive ZEAL sockets - didn't need the 10, 12 & 13 mm that came with the 4400MZ 10 pc set. The shallow Koken ZEAL sockets are the ultimate lightweight sockets for traveling with tools, in my opinion.

50 mm extension looks a lot shorter in 1/2" drive...

1/2" drive vs 1/4" drive 14 mm sockets:

New arrivals.

KTC TB210E 1/4" socket set. Some of the shortest "regular" sockets available. Same dimensions as their premium Nepros offering, but satin finish and a much lower price. Incredible value for excellent quality.

Wise extra long hex keys SBL-1000 with "Super Ball" end, and extra leverage handle. Ball end is supposed to be more robust and able to handle full fastener torque requirements.

I'm hoping someone has a better memory than me and can point me in the right direction:

Someone had posted some hex keys that had the short drive end indexed (or twisted) 30* from a typical hex key. IE the drive end was half a flat out so you could get a turn when you had no swing with a regular key.

I thought it was in this thread but I'm struggling to find them.

Thanks in advance

Asahi certainly offer these.

They offer quite a few specialist keys in fact, including ball grip and low profile.

Not all of them have this particular feature, but their “Daxkeys” do.

They come as a conventional key, with the short arm rotated 30 degrees, or as combination keys, with one arm each way. Sort of the hex key equivalent of the angle wrench.

I’m surprised we don’t hear more about Asahi. Their quality is top end (would rival PB Swiss) and their range of hex keys is very extensive.
