Who makes a good mid-rise jack stand?

I'm looking for some nice mid-rise jack stands that I could use with my soon to arrive Maxjax lift. Something with a range from say 24"-48".

We all know that good jack stands are essential for doing certain projects even if you do have a lift.

So does anyone know who makes some??

personally I like the large (like for trucks) ones that they sell at HF
for the price and size I think they are pretty darn decent

HF doesn't sell anything between 24" and 48" unfortunately

I 'd rather have 4ton ratchet stands minimum i do not car if they are pretty.

there use to be some 3 ton fold -able CNC cut race stands out of 7k series AL plate,

For the height range you are looking for you would probably need to buy aircraft jacks or jackstands. They are expensive; maybe even more, for a set of four, than a lot of lifts.

Their annual March "Sidewalk" sale is coming up. Just look for the ads, or their e-mail reminders. The sidelwalk sales usually offer very good bargains on shop equipment.

Make your own. I'm making mine out of square tubing with holes every 6", and 6" of acme thread for perfect leveling. Plus, I can screw whatever adapter I want on the top, then.

My stand only go to 26" or so, considering my frame is at 24" to start with, they don't do much good for changing axles.

I'll second the 12 HF. Cheap and reliable. Not something you can say often for HF

$50 bucks from harbor frieght got me this:


after a crooked cut with a band saw, 10 minutes of grinding and 2 minute of torching the base i ended up wtih this:

me personaly dont like the pedal it comes iwith i always tend to knock it down and end up kicking it. and it just makes it that more complicated to move around.
