I did coolant hoses on a 6.4 not too long ago. At the time I initially could not find the original source of the leak and it appeared to be the 2 piece lower hose. After replacing and bleeding coolant it turned out to be the upper hose was dripping down onto the t stat housing making it look like the lower hose. So I had him pay for the hose and ate the labor to install. Those hoses can be a ***** and they sure ain't cheap. Not to mention the massive amount of coolant these trucks hold.

The wife an I made a trip to home depot. Spent about 500 bucks on plants and stuff for the garden. Spring is getting close and we wanted our vegetable garden producing asap. When got home I backed down my drive way. My truck was at a slight incline. As I started to unload plants I could smell something different. So I looked underneath the truck and show a mess of an oil leak. At first I was pissed. The damn thing made a mess of my drive way as well as my truck. Parked my truck in the dirt. I couldn't figure out where the leak was coming from. Looking underneath the truck I could tell its somewhere high on the motor. So it dripped all down the back of the bell housing.
I was pretty frustrated. I had just replaced my EGR heat exchanger. The first thing I thought was that Its related to something that I had recently done to my truck. I backed my truck into my shop. Put some cardboard down. The wife gave me the option, You can take it somewhere if you want. After thought I figured it would be best If I did it. Which means I had to take some stuff apart to see where the oil leak was coming from. I couldn't tell at all where the source was. All I knew it was high on the motor and closer toward the back. Well that means I have to pull the manifold plenums off for a 4th time. After I pulled those off I realized that the leak was coming from top of the turbo. Further inspection The oil feed line on top of the turbo was leaking. Im not sure if it was the feed line itself or the fittings. I made a trip to Ford. Both fittings, Feed line and coolant line were 125 bucks.
Crappy part about this fix is that I couldn't find anything on youtube. I found plenty of videos on our to take the turbo out. Luckily I found one video that identified the oil feed line and how to take it out. The fittings require a special tool. I forget what its called but I found if you have a couple of small picks you can work it out. Just drop drop the damn thing. The clips aren't magnetic so There pretty much gone if you drop em. Taking the feed line off and re installing wasnt bad. The clips were kinda hard to work in. I cleaned up the valley and where oil leak was the best I could. I have a feeling im going to be cleaning for a while. After everything was put back together I ran the truck for a while. I didnt notice any leaks. But its pretty hard to see with all the plenums. I even used Bobs iPhone snake camera that I bought on amazon. It works pretty good but the light doesn't seem bright enough. At this point it was dark. I was sore and tired. I called it a day and parked the truck in the shop for the night. It still seems to drip oil. I found a couple more drops on my shop floor. Im not sure if this just residual from earlier. Today Im going to further inspect. Im not sure wtf else it could be. My friend that has the same truck as me said that I probably fixed it. Those lines have been known to leak especially the coolant line. He told me that the valley * on top of the motor * holds a lot of oil and probably has some thats still leaking down the bell housing. Im probably going to be cleaning this for a few days. one of my pet peeves is oil leaks from vehicles. Also I started a thread on the general discussion looking at what other ppl use to remove oil stains from concrete. If anyone has anything that works good please share the info.

Cheers

After spending an hour cleaning the under carriage of my F250 it still leaks. I had a small leak at idle which I thought was just left over oil from the valley on top of the motor. It was clean enough for me to tell that I still have a problem. Prior to pulling the manifold plenums off I used my iPhone snake cam to try and narrow down the leak. I could see oil but it wasnt leaking from the oil fittings that I just replaced going to the turbo. Those look pretty clean. So for the 5th time I pulled the manifolds off. In the process I almost f ed my self. My 8mm swivel socket fell off the end of the extension and dropped under the manifold. I spent 10 mins trying to fish it out with a magnet. No luck. Lucky for me I was able to find a replacement which I didnt know I had. If i couldn't get the plenums off theres no way I would have been able to get it.
At this point im 85% at getting the turbo out. Never done it before. Ive narrowed the leak to under the turbo but im not sure wtf if its the top of the motor or turbo. Ill hopefully find out today I have the whole day to get it off. Im having a hard time getting the turbo down pipe clamps to come off. I really dont want to cut them but ive tried a lot of different methods with no movement.

Yesterday I picked up a tomahawk for dinner. Smoked it on the traeger. Also my wife finished grad school. So no more school for her!
I had a thread about oil stains on concrete in the general thread. I wasnt sure what ppl are using these days. Made a trip to auto zone and ended up gettin this oil eater. Its dog ****. Dont use it. IT leaves you with a mess to clean as well as the oil stain. Didnt seem to do anything. I sprayed some simple green on it too. That helped a bit but at this point these stains are the least of my issues. My truck is still torn apart. My shop is a mess. It was a mess prior to me wrenching on my truck.

This is the reason my shop is a damn mess. Which bugs the f out of me especially when i have a major project going on. Rewind to easter weekend. My kids and my wife were on spring break. So I loaded up the kids and we drove 3.5 hrs to my moms house in AZ. Her and my wife cant get along. The wife never goes and I dont ask her to. My mom cant get over the fact I have another woman in my life I guess. Its not like im a teenager im 41. So the trip was pretty uneventful. I got to visit with my mom. I took my oldest son shooting. We stayed two nights. My dad left my mom with huge shop full of tools. Most of his tools have ended up in my shop. She went through some more tool boxes and found some stuff I might use.
- Large Proto / blackhawk sockets and wrenches
-Skill saw with extra blades
-snap on ac gauge
- some misc blue point and snap on tools vice grips
- some other bs ect
The hand cart Im going to convert into a torch cart. I need to switch the tires out and clean up the cart a bit before I start.
At this point Im at max capacity as far as tool storage. Im trying to convince my wife I need to up grade. But I think im going to have to wait a few months. So i think im going to get a 72" US general from HF.

Bummer about the oil leak. Watch out for those clamps. I had one that kept spreading at the t bolt, and coming loose. Tried to fix it, but no luck. Better to just replace 'em.

My dad passed back in 09, mom last year. My oldest sis is in the house now. Dad didn't have a lot of tools, but boy did he have hardware & electronics! I'd need to have twice the space I have to hold it all.

im waiting for the weather to warm up a bit and im gonna give it a try. Im probably just gonna replace them. Im gonna try a couple of things. That doesn't work im gonna cut it. Looking at some youtube videos looks like the bottom base gasket is leaking. Ill hopefully know in a few hrs or less.

I was really close to my dad once I moved out. My childhood he was a little rough. No abuse but he wasnt really investing time into me. Im trying to learn from that and invest more in my kids. Im still pretty close to my mom. She has no need for my dads stuff and would much rather me get it than sell. One of the man reasons we built my shop was after my dad passed my mom wanted all my dads tools gone. She didnt wanna see any. Im trying to get my kids in the shop a little bit. They visit me here and there but lose interest.

Is the oil return from the turbo leaking?
It was, I replaced it last weekend. It seemed like the truck was still leaking though.... Nope the top of the motor has two voids outside the valley that hold about a cup of oil each. Thats what was running down the bell housing.

Yesterday afternoon I finally got the turbo out. What a *****. The damn thing is heavy. Once I had it off I was able to inspect the turbo and top of the block better. My conclusion is that initially the oil leak was coming from the oil feed line at the top of the turbo. I replaced this last weekend. Which stopped the leak fixing the problem. Well looking down to the top of the motor there are two voids in between the valley and bell housing. Thats where the oil pooled up. It held about a cup of oil each. Thats why it was still leaking. We ll now i know. The turbo looks fine. The base gasket looked good. doesn't appear that it leaked oil. Once oil leaks from the top of something its really hard to tell whats not a leak until you clean it up. The hardest part are the downpipe clamps. Im having a tuff time getting them back on. All the oil is cleaned up. I have the turbo put back in. The clamps are bent too much that I cant put the back on to tighten. I might have to replace them on monday. Im gonna try and get them back on. Also before anyone asks yes im reusing the base gasket. It appeared good. However if i cant get the clamps on and I have to replace them Ill get new gaskets and bolts as well as clamps.
So basically I didnt need to pull the turbo. But it game me a piece of mind. Now I know for sure the thing ant leaking anymore. But my truck would have continued to "leak" oil from those voids until I was able to get it out from driving around. Man my top creeper has been used. I think i need to replace the pad. Ive only had it for maybe two months and the pad looks like some fat *** sat in it for 5 yrs.
Finished the day in the hot tube and got to see a space x launch. Its soooo cool. We can see the one of the boosters get shot out and land back to earth. Kids really got a kick out of it.

How many miles on that turbo - its out so...worth a rebuild or a boost in power?

Evening fella
The pick up has certainly led you a merry dance of late, glad to see your happy there’s no leaks now.
Space X from the hot tub, now that is cool. Is it a regular occurrence. Space X, not the hot tub.

Steve 🍻
Thanks Steve, This was the second one within a week. Kids got a kick out of it. Hot tub is good for recovery.

130k. The thing is running good. I thought about it but the wife had a good idea. Why fix something thats not a problem.

At this point im about 95% done. Turbo and manifold plenums are on. All lest to do is tighten the upper manifold bolts and put coolant back in the system. Things didnt go as easy as I was hoping. I had to call for help lol. I think I pulled the turbo in and out about 4 times. That sucker is heavy af. I wanna say it weights about 70 lbs. Once I got the turbo in seated I was having a hard time putting the down pipe clamps on. I probably spent close to an hour just taking them on and off and trying to get them to close so I could tighten them. Then my ******* realized that Theres a gap in-between the two exhaust ports. I knew it wasnt going to seat with the gap. I took a long pry bar and pushed on the back of the pipe and that did the trick and closed the gap. The larger clamp went on fine. With no gap the second one went one fine. That problem was I had to move the clamp later on. The end of the bolt was sticking out. I wasnt going to be able to put the turbo heat shield back on.
Here comes the ****** part. The hardest clamp to get at was the lower one. Its in-between the cab and the back / side of the motor. The Clamp seated fine. I couldn't get the T bolt to seat so I would be able to tighten the clamp. You can kinda see it with the first pic. After spending about an hour. I called for help. My wife has been bugging me asking if I need help. She was super excited to help. Id say my wife is above average for a chick when it comes to mechanical skill as well as driving skills. To put it in perspective, Ive see so many couples fight and lose their **** trying to launch a boat. My wife an I have done that many times and never raise our voices at each other.
So my help arrived, my plan was to get the t bolt completely off on the bottom down pipe. The problem was a small 11mm bolt that was retaining the t bolt. It wouldn't loosen by hand. The damn things is exposed to a lot of heat no wonder it wouldn't come off. My wife with here little hands and small snap on 11mil wrench got it off. She didnt know how I was going to get it back on. I told her its magic. Once the nut was off the t bolt went into the retainer. Now there were exposed threads and I could tighten the nut onto the t bolt. We got it tightened and now we can close up the wheel well and put the tire back on. The hard part is over. I thanked her so much for her help. After that it was pretty much down hill from there. I lost one retaining c clip putting the coolant line back. There was no room for my big hands... well it would have helped if didnt put on the turbo heat shield.... Once it was loose The c clamp when on no issues.
The weather is starting to warm up so Im gonna finish it up and see if there are any leaks. I should be good. Ill probably up date tomorrow

Cheers

The turbo saga is complete. There was an issue when I had everything put back together... Major exhaust leak. Apparently the down pipes weren't connected all the way. I had low boost with exhaust in the cab. I didnt document the duplication of effort But this time around I got the clamps and pipes connected properly with no exhaust leak. But I did break off the VCT *i think thats what it is* tabs on both sides were pretty cracked and broke off. Its a electrical connection into the turbo. Im going to replace it but in the mean time I zip tied it into place. That things not going anywhere. I'll caution anyone that pulls a turn off and puts it back on its very common to get the down pipes not connected all the way. Theres a few tricks. You can loosen the bolts holding the down pipes *which I failed to do the first time* also you can move the turbo to get the pipes seated properly then put the turbo in place. Easier said than done. Thank god I have really long pry bars. But its done.
My top creeper has gotten quite a bit of use since Ive had it. The pad is pretty worn down. When my wife came and helped me, she ghetto fabbed a pad on top of it. This helped a lot. On the top the rails that hold the pad kinda stick out. Those rails really dug into my quad. This fixed it. For top creepers this one was on the cheap end. It was about 180. They go all the way up to 300. I had no idea that I would have put this to use so much. It came in handy its a must have but has a couple of flaws.
Having drained my coolant so many times. This kit I bought on amazon makes it a pretty painless process. The most difficult part is just making sure the hose stays toward the bottom of the bucket. The kit is OEMTOOLS coolant system refilled. It was about 80 bucks. Well worth it.
Thats all for now. Looking forward to not working on my truck for a while and healing my sore body.

Ive took a bit of a break from shop work lately. After the turbo saga I needed time to heal and focus on other stuff. In the morning I went and picked up my oldest sons best friend so they could hang out. On the way to pick him up I went and got some fuel. My fuel cans were empty. When I put diesel in my fuel can I noticed something on the spout.... Looked like a coiled piece of plastic. The screen caught it. Im sure glad it had a screen or It would be in my truck or kubota...
With the kids playing I got to work in my shop. I have two large tanks for a cutting torch. Acetylene and 02. Ive had these tanks chained up against my wall. My plan has always been to make a torch chart but I was missing a hand truck. I know you can buy a cart but I dont really wanna spend the money when I can just build it. Last month I picked up my dads old hand cart from my mom. It was just baking in the sun. She had no use for it. I started off by making a templet. Measured the tanks, that gave me an Idea how large I wanted to make the tank holder.
The width is 9 inches. I was hoping to find a piece of steel 9inchs wide. What I did have was way to thick and I didnt wanna waste it on this. I thought about using diamond plate but Im saving that for another project down the road. Going through my scrap i found some steel mesh. I'll enclose that. Welded the box together and made sure It fit. I measured correctly lol. Cart was pretty hammered. I took the surface refinisher to it and tried to smooth the surfaces the best i could. Some of the paint wouldn't come off. I plan on repainting it once its done. The last picture is the box on the hand cart.

Continued progress, I took the chains I used to hold the tanks to the wall and tacked them to the cart. At this point I was using my angle grinder to smooth my welds. This is when I let my guard down and the grinder bit me. I was wearing gloves went right through. At first I didnt think it was that big of a deal. Then I noticed I was leaking. Yep Got me a small lac. I still had some work to do so I wrapped a small piece of blue towel around my finger and duct taped it. The wife wasnt impressed at my first aid skills. She told me she expected something a little better coming from a paramedic. Ya not my finest dressing but it was effective. Once it was dressed I finished up my cart up. I tacked a couple of piece of steel. One to hold the torch hose and one to hold the cutting end. Thats pretty much it for now. Im gonna try and paint it today. It was a nice time to stop. Finished the day with a fine cigar an a beverage.

Danny, she obviously isn't a connoisseur. There are several GJ first aid levels. Most of us use toilet paper or white paper towels and blue painter's tape. Blue towel and duct tape is high end stuff!
lol not at all. If it wasnt bleeding I would have just Charle miked *contine mission*. Both of us are paramedics. I'll just throw this disclaimer out there, she's the better medic. She assumed I would have done a better job. I even have a bs first aid kit in my shop. Also have an IFAK that includes quick clot, tourniquet, chest seal... needle t ect. I hope I never need to use my IFAK. After it stopped bleeding I just used some super glue to close the lac. Im sure if I really wanted to I could have gone to urgent care and picked up a stitch or two. That would have just slowed me down.

Oil change indicator came on a few days ago. I waited till friday to change it. It seems I always make a freaking mess. Most of the cardboard caught the oil. Just a few drips here and there. Nothing exciting this week. Weathers been ****** for so cal.

Im sure the escape has a lot less room than my F250 does. Your braver than me. I dont think id mess with the turbo on the escape. Maybe Id give it a try but id be scared lol. The next time I have to do any turbo work Im going to hook the down tubes prior to seating the turbo into place. The first try I had boost and exhaust leak. It was bad enough it filled the cab with exhaust. I was pretty pissed off at my self. Ive heard its pretty common. It went easier the last time. I had all the clamps on the exhaust connected and was able to manipulate the turbo into place. What a PIA. Im taking a break from the power stroke..... I have to do front hubs and brakes soon. Knowing my luck its gonna be hot af. My plan is in august to purchase a gooseneck.

Life has been pretty busy lately. Lots of exciting things have been taking place. Wife an I got to go up to Napa CA wine country with out any kids. The reason for the trip was she received an award from EMSA for all her hard work as a Program Director for her college. The award dinner was in St. Helena CA at The Culinary Institute of America Greystone. Prior to the dinner we got a chance to look in the lobby/gift shop area before they started letting people upstairs. My wife an I aren't wine drinkers. During our two night trip we didnt stop at one winery. We hit up a couple of breweries though. Damn my wife cleans up nice.

Another trip but this time it was in the coachella desert in so cal. Its about an hr drive from the house. Wife was helping out with a conference. I didnt really have a role in the conference but I helped lug some equipment out there and back. During the day she was pretty busy. So I was able to hang out by the pool.
Back to garage stuff... kinda. We have a problem with birds and rodents eating our vegetables or killing our chickens. Wife told me the pellet gun wasnt sighted in. My first shot it was just outside. About an hour later its sighted in at 100ft. Used my top creeper for a rifle stand. I have some interesting projects coming up. I need to do brakes/rotors and front hubs for my F250. Also told my soon to be former employer of my intent to retire the first part of August. My Dr cleared me back to full duty. He wasnt very happy about it. I have another follow up in 5 weeks. Gave me crappy news that ill most likely need a knee replacement down the road. Cant do it now he said im too young. Oh well life is good.

Yesterday the wife hit the store to stock up on the weekend. As she left she noticed one of our neighbors *4 houses from us* were outside talking to some ppl in the neighborhood. She made it a few blocks and noticed she forgot her wallet and turned around. This same neighbor was talking to someone else in our neighborhood. As my wife left she said hello and said have a great weekend. Thats when the neighbor told my wife that some **** bag was in there back yard for 40 mins while they were home. She doesn't think that this person stole anything but its not the thing to be doing at 11 at night. Wife continued to the store called me and told me what happened.
I knew something was weird. I typically check my cameras everyday. Usually when im using the turdlet. I had see this car in the last photo pick up on my door bell camera. My camera stopped detecting motion but every so often the ring takes still videos. I noticed tail lights at the neighbors house for 3 hrs. My camera quit picking it up at 240 am. The story goes that this guy gained entry into her yard and was in and out of 4 pals yards. I have to give it to this guy. Im surprised he didnt lose his top piece.
While the wife was at the store she told me the sheriff is up the street and would like to see my video. I met up with the deputy sent him the video. He told me theres really no crime that occurred but hes going to gather all the information he can.
This is where it doesn't pay to be a **** bag criminal. Towards the end of the day the neighbor who had the dirt bag in her yard called the wife. One of the houses on our back found a wallet in his yard. It matched the description of the person in the video. Looks like this guy had been in the neighborhood mid week jumping ppls fences and lost his wallet. Looks like he returned to the scene to try and find it. Sheriff is in the process of trying to get a hold of him. At the end of the day this guy wont be going to jail most likely just get paper fucked ie criminal trespass but has been identified and is in the system.
Just passing the info. Dont get complacent.

After the unwanted guest in the neighborhood the wife felt it was a good idea to invest in some home security. Ring had a deal over the weekend 40% off. We bought a bunch of ****. I was able to include a ring Flood light camera for the shop. Like most ring devices its pretty easy to set up. Only took me about an hour to get it installed. I need to put some silicone around the mount. Ill get to it soon.... its not suppose to rain for a bit.

I have a ring floodlight cam awaiting install on my workbench. This one will be for the backyard but mounts to my shop on the rear corner. I ran out of mc and until I get motivation to get more it will have to wait.

The floodlight cam sat on my bench for two weeks. I should have waited to do it when it was cooler.

Finally getting around to replacing my front hubs. While im doing the hubs i might as well replace my brakes and rotors. The drivers side is all done. Im almost half way done with the passenger side. Knock on wood but everything is has gone pretty well. Most of the youtube videos I watched involved a lot of swinging of a hammer. Ive only used the sledge a few times. Still gotta do the rear brakes. Should only take me an hour or two.

Continued from friday afternoon. Spent most of the morning in the hot tub with my wife. Once it was time to get to work I started on the passenger side. This side was a little bit more difficult. I had to drop the tie rod form the drag link. Not a whole lot of room to get the stud out of the knuckle. Overcame this by using a long pry bar. Putting it back together was just about as difficult. The hub came out easy no issues with that or the brakes. I moved my operation to the rear of the vehicle. I decided to do sorta do both sides at the same time. PB blaster was no match for the rusted rotors. Smacked them pretty good with slappy the hammer without making any progress. I was getting frustrated so I took a break and was hoping that PB would do the trick. 20 mins later nada. After a quick search of Youtube I found a solution. Took a long bolt through the rotor bracket with a washer and a not on the inside. It pushed on the rotor and created some space. I did this on two different spots on my rotor and it came off. Now this is where i run into problems. The drivers side is all done. Im 90% done with the passenger side. I pulled the caliper bracket off and noticed that one of the pins was seized. It wouldn't come out. I tried to pull it out with a puller with no success. I even put it in a press. I thought making if I pushed it in a little it would break free. After messing with it of an hour I figured it was f ed and I needed to replace it. At this point its 4 in the afternoon. Wife was starting to prep dinner. I thought maybe If auto zone or oreillys. None had them in stock. Both the bracket or pins. The closes parts store that had them was about an hour away. I didnt wanna drive up there. The nearest ford dealer isn't open on sunday. I wanted to get this done as soon as possible. Amazon in for the rescue. Ordered the bracket with pins free one day shipping. Should be wrapped up today.

Im pretty sure I could have gotten away with running the old for a while. This is my 2nd set on my truck. They had about 75k on them. However I do tow pretty heavy. My goal was to get fresh brakes for my truck because come Aug ill be starting my business. A few of my friends gave me **** for doing brakes. Both have diesels, One has a f250 i think 17, the other one has a chevy dually. These guys both have over 120k on them and still havent done brakes. I thought that was crazy but maybe its just me.

Also on the home front our ac system suicided it self... Wasnt planning on spending 10 k on a new system. Kinda ***** but the old sys was 25 yrs old. The blower in the house wasnt working. I tried fixing it but I couldn't get it to work. Ac guy showed up in 10 mins. Gave us two options, replace the blower for 1k or replace the whole sys for 10k. It was a good idea to get a new system. The heat has just shown up and we dont wanna suffer. At some point we planned on replacing the system but its almost never on your terms.

UPDATE! This is non garage related updates. Im stuck at home with covid... My oldest had it this week. He lost his sense of smell and taste. Youngest one got it a few days ago. Now this am Ive got it woohoo. Hopefully the wife doesn't get it. She just got thrown into a new role at her work. Its good for the family but its been very busy for her.

The first picture is just a question Id ask the forum. This **** wagon was parked in front of my house. It partially blocked my drive way. Ya I could still get in and out but I thought thats not a very nice thing to do with the neighborhood full of other places to park. A little context, My neighbor passed away around easter. He wasnt the best but he wasnt the worst either. Other than him being nosey and wanting to talk all the time he was nice and took care of his yard. He was in his mid 70s and would still go out side and work in his yard. Cutting down trees, pulling weeds ect. He mentioned several times when he passes that his kid would most likely move in or sell the house. Welp he moved in, the yard looks like trash and now we have these **** wagons coming around the hood at all times of the day and night. A Saturday morning I noticed this truck parked in from of my house. The family an I were enjoying the pool. Some friends of ours were coming over to enjoy the cool water. Would you guys tell the owner to move his truck?
- I ended up going over there in my board shorts and flip flops and asked nicely to move the vehicle. The new neighbor told me he was in the process of moving it. As I was walking back to my property the owner of the truck said something smart. I politely told him theres other places to park in the hood, not only are you blocking the driveway your gonna piss my mail man off cause he cant get to my box. Anyway I know cool starry bra.

My best friend got hitched in vegas. This was late June. Funny license plate we saw enroute. The wife took a photo of it. The kids got a kick out of it. The room one of our friends had was a suite. It was pretty baller got to see the sphere from his room. After the wedding we went to a nice steak house, I think it was called the chop house. It was in some ghetto hotel in old town. There was shady ppl working there when we entered. The "security guard" scanned ids to enter the casino.... He scanned all the woman's ids but not the dudes. I asked him about it. He said were good. Not sure wtf but it came to head later. Towards the end of dinner my wife got a txt from our son. She told me she's going to go call him. There was no service inside the casino. Once dinner was paid for I went to go find my wife. She wasnt in the lobby or casino. I went outside to find a security guard yelling at her whiles hes on the phone. The guy wasnt going to let my wife back in. She wasnt drunk, she was dressed like we just got out of a wedding. The dude dropped f bombs at her. I have no idea wtf was going on and why they wouldn't let her back in. She's a nice woman. She was upset about this guy talking to her. The security guard an I had some words. This defiantly wasnt worth going to jail over. Good thing my wife was there to talk sense into me. After this incident the trip went on as expected.

The beginning of July we got 5 new chickens from a friend of a friend. The original owner couldn't care for them anymore. So we got 5, they're mature and lay eggs. We were able to introduce them without any real issues. As of today they get along pretty well. This summer I decided to add a mister system for the birds. It works automatically via garden hose timer. As I was installing the misters to the top of the cage. I found a wasp nest. Pretty shocked I didnt get bit. I was on the phone when i found them. I thought it was just a fly. Thankfully I realized it was a wasp and killed it with some raid.

More to come

Saturday was pool filter cleaning day. I took over pool duties from our pool guy. We didnt think he was doing that good of a job job for what he was getting paid so we decided to take over. Ive been doing it about 3 months. My pool hasn't turned green yet. Im still a novice when it comes to the pool. Every couple of weeks I get my water checked at the local pool supply in town. They recommend a conditioner to keep the chemicals in the pool so they dont evaporate in the sun. A few days later I could tell my filters needed to be cleaned. It seems like the condition likes to plug up my filters. With the pool clean the family enjoyed the pool over the weekend. Kids love to ruff house with me in the pool.
This week I noticed my Fridge stopped making ice. This fridge is maybe 4 yrs old. Its a pile of ****. Its an LG. About a yr into having it the ice maker went out. It wasn't covered under warranty so we paid out of pocket to replace the ice box for 500ish. After a few yrs of my ice machine not working it seemed the meat in the freezer was starting to thaw. I pulled all of the food out and was able to put in the other two fridges that we have. The wife an I tore it apart. I watched a few youtube videos but it didnt really point me in a direction that we could diagnosis it. The boss made the decision to replace it. We've never really been happy with the thing and have already paid someone to fix it. Now were waiting a week till the new one shows up.

This Friday will be my last day with the Fire Dept. Ill be officially retired...

Just saw this thread, don't know why but I thought you were someone else. Or maybe I'm right and you had another thread at one time.

I'll have to check back to read from the beginning, but regarding your neighbor parking, you were nice to tell him to just move his truck, but next time I would be calling the fire department or police officer since he's parked in front of the fire hydrant. We are supposed to be parking 5ft away from the hydrant in a residential area I believe, commercial it's even further. He could just get a ticket and towed away next time.
