actually, what i find interesting is that the engraving disappears under the ridge. i would have assumed that there would be damage to the ridge from the application of the engraving, but there isn't.
it really looks like the ridge was added after the engraving, like someone built a wall down the middle of a carpeted room, and just nailed the base plate down on top of the carpet...
I'd say it's worth about ten bucks....maybe as high as 15. No way is it worth 30.
They are like 40 bucks new. Just googled the p/n and saw some on eBay for 30. Granted no bids yet, just a fresh listed one. A this is not anymore valuable because of that mistake?...
I've never met anyone who collects defective tools, but you might get lucky and find one.

I'v got an old craftsman box end wrench I think its a 1/2 - 9/16 that the sizes are stamped on the wrong ends. There backwards
If I’m not mistaken, a 5/16 Whitworth is .600 across the flatsCan anybody tell me why a 5/8 box end wrench would have 5/16 on it
Hello and welcome. I believe it refers to the old time USS (US Standard) bolt size for a 5/16" bolt. So, the hex size according to the charts is 19/32. Near 5/8, but 19/32 was an actual wrench size.
Thank you don't care if it's worth anything just wondered what it wasHello and welcome. I believe it refers to the old time USS (US Standard) bolt size for a 5/16" bolt. So, the hex size according to the charts is 19/32. Near 5/8, but 19/32 was an actual wrench size.
So, not a misprint as some may wonder.
Good reading here.
