Does anyone know of a company that makes a good quality cordless light that can be used for auto mechanic work? I would like a light with a good runtime and with good lighting. Thanks.
I have a really overpriced, overrated Snap-On I wish I never bought. I bought one of the Stanley Bar Flex LED on Black Friday for 14.95 at lowes I was so happy with it I went back to by another a week later. It was 29.95 then. I still bought it. Great lights, great hook and magnetic base. It also pivots slightly. Has a high and low setting and will run about 6-8 hours steady on a full charge.
I've got the CMAN version and I really like it.
IMHO, the Craftsman one is junk. Its problem, is the recharge/plug, is at the bottom of the point in the handle. Other brands I have seen/used (Terralux, Uview, store branded ones), have a six sided base, so they don't roll, and have the plug, INSET, so you don't hit it on that when it gets dropped. I don't see it on their site, but I believe my current one is from Harry Epstein's.
I've never had a problem with mine. As far as not having a six sided base, it has a magnet mount that keeps it from rolling around and you can attach iot sideways, upside down or use the hook.
