do you have trouble with vibration ? I have a grinder mounted on a disc similarly and the damn thing vibrates all over the place, I had to brace it to a post in my shed ( my grinder has one of those belt linisher attachments on it though)
A grinder shouldn’t really be vibrating. Theyre generally very smooth running. Your wheels may be out of balance or you need new bearings. Try it without the attachment and see what you get

We have reached the end of prime "curbside shopping season" here, so it's time to organize the keepers, sell the flip items and toss the junk.

I did grab 8 vintage wood drawers from a huge workbench/storage unit at the curb. The are nicely build and I like the pull hardware used. I'll build them into something. The color is very close to the teal/green color my daughter favors.

With the heat wave Mrs No_Garage want to get her car into the garage. I might have gotten a reprieve on that for a bit as she has remote start and can run the A/C before she gets in it.

I have been meaning to do that for a while now, I will get onto that. Speaking of which when I removed one of the original wheels the outer mounting plate had a lip on it that weights were attached to, I never understood how the balancing was carried out

A neighbor walked over the other day. His 2016 Ford Fusion 2.5l left him stranded at the kids tee ball games Friday when we were pushing 100*F. Sounded like some type of vapor lock, gas cap kind of thing. I didn't get to see any codes. I ran him back up to get it and she ran fine coming back home (20 miles). It did the same on Saturday. Let it cool, she would run for a bit and then go into a limp mode? Good hard working IT guy at Verizon, three young boys. Not too mechanically inclined, he went to Youtube University Sunday while he was at work. Brought her over this morning and we replaced the plugs, air filter and purge valve he picked up. Took 15 minutes to replace that stuff, and so far he drove it to work and home today and has ran fine. Not nearly as hot today though.

Still fooling around with fitting this “cap” to the tops of the walls.

IMG_5052.jpeg

I think this is going to work.

Then, some destructive testing.

IMG_5058.jpeg

The Loctite does bind to wood really well. It bonded to the painted aluminum pretty well too. I was able to pull the aluminum off, but it took quite a lot of pull strength to do it, and the piece was pretty well destroyed in the process.

I don’t know what this will do long term. But short term, three days, it’s a pretty good bond.

Removing the trim that needs to be replaced.

Well, in PRNJ, putting a shed is a bit of a PITA with the town. I'm trying to sort out placement of a 12x24(maybe 12x30) if I can somehow put it near the driveway. If I can't, I'll have to put it in the back of the backyard - which eliminates the possibility of using as additional garage. It also eliminates the kids putting their bikes/etc in it as it would be quite the nuisance. BUT - if I do that, I might be able to put a 2nd shed in the driveway area (on "neighbor's" property), would be 10x10 to avoid the town intervening - that could easily house the bikes, sports gear, scooters, etc.

As for the Race Ramps, they're stacked in between the two Pontiacs at the moment. It's not terrible, but just another thing to avoid walking around.

That blank wall between the doors might make a good home for the ramps. Jackstands too, if you have them.

As most too much stuff in the way. Had a tool box tote, picked up for a fiver at a gs. Cleaned it up and then worked diligently to get all the pcs for the quickjack stuffed inside. Took some work, but made it--oil would not fit so its on the shelf with oils/lubricants. Rolls out of the way and stored!

That might work! I was thinking of putting a pneumatic hose reel in each - but those are likely better from ceiling. With that said - the ramps are quite big.

Had a small older monitor not being used and thought it would be nice to set it up to use in the garage...
Ordered a cheap wall mount from the Jungle site that came in yesterday...
I also had an older 11" MacBook Air (Big Sur) that is no longer supported by Apple updates but works OK to surf the web...
Got the wall bracket mounted this morning...

It would sure be nice if there was a way to connect to the monitor wirelessly...
Does anyone know if there a transmitter and receiver dongle that would make the connection?
MacBook Air has a lightning port and the monitor has a DVI-D receptacle... Suggestions?

You could use AirPlay via AppleTV (as a dongle)

It's a good idea, I have a Mac mini and am in the process of putting a nice safe in my workroom, next to it I want to build a workbench mainly for cleaning items in the safe, but for additional work as well. Adding a screen/web access could be convenient for certain things. I like it!

The thermostat housing on my 62 Impala sprung a leak and shot antifreeze all over the intake. Getting into the crevasses to dry it is a pain. I had an old GE motor and some hardware I got at an Estate Sale (Craftsman chuck, mini drill pump and sleeve) I rigged up the pump with a narrow nozzle and a long hose to remove the antifreeze.

Side of the garage.
When they installed the Solar panels and control boxes, they installed this switch.

The electrician/Tech said it wasn't hooked to anything and did nothing. So I asked him to remove it. They had it on the line diagram that was submitted to the building department. They installed it so they didn't need to resubmit the permit.

Then I plugged the hole with some insulation foam then cut a scrap piece of Hardie siding to fit. Bondo and sanded.

No more hole or stupid switch to no where.

Not in my garage, but a relatives - replaced the power window motors on a 1977 Corvette. Found the driver side regulator mounting bracket broken, but that will have to be repaired later. Tried to start it afterwards, but no luck. It tries to start, but goes dead when I release the key. Wondering if the switch is bad.

Had a squeak coming from the driveshaft of my Ram 2500, cousin told me it was the universal joints, glad he told me cause I wasn’t sure if it was the u joints or the hanger bearing, I called Ram dealership for a price on OEM u joints, YOU WONT BELIEVE IT 272.00 each. There’s 3 in the rear driveshaft so.... 816.00. Ended up getting Dana/Spicer U joints SPL701X from Rock Auto for 69.57 each. Got the 3 of them pressed out and in and the driveshaft back on tonight. Squeak is gone😀

In front of the garage . . .

I fabbed up a 1/8" x 1" x 8" steel bar to reenforce the pivot point on the belt tensioner of my Toro lawn tractor. Painted it, bolted it up and reinstalled the deck on the tractor. I need to get a crack welded where the chute opening is - so I prepped the area and will bring it to my BIL's business where they should be able to weld it. I probably should have had the welding done BEFORE I put the deck back on the mower.

I ordered a new set of blades and blade stiffeners - they will be here in a few days.

The deck is in overall poor condition - there are spots rusting thru one the side away from the chute.

Cheers

tired of trying to post all the pictures of family on the front of the fridge so my OCD won out. I have one of these previously made with old triptik maps in my shop office. This was to be in the house. A galvanized sheet of 24x36 duct work, a 24x36 poster frame less the plastic/glass, some spray glue, some cheap fabric in a travel motif. A couple hours, on the wall and magnets holding pictures. The bursar liked it, so life is good!
