Half in half out?
Finishing a project I started before last winter. Getting this frame coated.
I did stop last winter while awaiting title work. Submitted my paperwork and may be getting title soon. So now I feel better about spending money/time on it.
Anyway, got it wire wheeled a while back. So now I hit it with degreaser and the pressure washer
After a good scrub, started to apply primer. I brushed it on as much as I could
Then sprayed the rest where I couldn’t. I also went over where I brushed with the spray gun to even out the texture.
I got overspray on some stuff under there, but I’m not concerned. Most of the oversprayed stuff is coming out (brake lines, wiring, hoses, etc)
I did a few coats of primer on this part. This is where the fuel tank sits and I assume salt will hit this area fairly hard. And yes, the hangers need pulled and fixed/replaced. That is why I am using implement paint. So that I can touch up as necessary. There will be a homemade/light duty flatbed going on here instead of a regular bed. So access will be easy. This will be my winter beater with a heater this winter (assuming the title work comes through)
Once the title arrives, I’ll be buying stuff to do brakes (front/rear), cooling system (water pump, thermostat, hoses), fan belt, and tires. That will get it rolling down the road reliably.
When done, I should have “roughly” $1000 into this truck. Not bad at all.
