Like the title says. I want a good stiff corn broom. Even the “stiff” brooms at ACE are pretty flexible and not like the ones my parents had when I was a kid.
Menards has had some in the past. Still not like the old days, but ok. My home town had a broom factory. All of our little league umps had corn wisk brooms & everyone used local brooms.Like the title says. I want a good stiff corn broom. I hope there are some good replies to this. RTM's looks promising, but I want one in the hand first.
I had to retire my old, broom corn shop broom recently, as the bristles were worn down to the band. I bought a new one at ACE, and it *****. Way too soft for a worn concrete shop floor.
Makes sense now why my parents had good brooms. My moms step dad was blind and he sold brooms and mops over the phone. He’d make calls all week and then grandma would take him to the warehouse to pick up and distribute the brooms on Saturdays.Industries of the Blind still makes them, but they sell by cases on their website. Our local Lions club sells them at various businesses around here.
