Yep, @bmwrd0 *****!Agreed! Another BMW ****!You **** on that leather tote!

Depends upon how much you wanted to spend. Was available in different versions. (catalog snip below)not sure if this came with a ratchet originally
Not A bad day??? That’s it? Dude you killed it today! In between the leather tote and the lathe , you cleaned up real nice! Major suckage awardedI had about a half-dozen stops planned for today, Restores and thrift stores and the usual garage and estate sales, but I only ended up finding two things worth picking up.
About half way through the day, I found this, a leather tool satchel just like the one I used when I was doing inspections of commercial AC units. Strong as all get out, keeps everything right were you can see it, holds enough, but not too much, I could go on. These things aren't cheap though, and last time I looked Ideal had them for right around $300. I got it for $10.
But my first stop was where I found this:
A Montgomery Wards branded Logan 820(I think). It is missing the chuck (I have an extra anyway) the gear train from the headstock to the leadscrew, and the compound rest assembly, along with who knows what else. But, it has the legs, and the drip tray. And for $50 I think I am pretty far ahead. I will probably restore and then replace my South Bend 9b. So, not a bad day.
That Cornwell mini 3/8" ratchet is one of my favorites. Seriously smooth. And nice find on the tommy bar too!Beemer ***** so bad for that tote! Been hoping to run across one of those forever!
Hit a couple sales this afternoon no crazy deals but picked up a couple pieces I like.
First is this Snap on 3/8 set, dug it out of a pile of HF stuff at a pro estate sale. Unfortunately the guy recognized them, fortunately I had just helped him load a huge Lista into a guys truck so he didn’t gouge me as bad as he could have. $15
Next sale had a bunch of nice stuff but it was pricey and all individually marked. Filled a tool box with a few things and the guy added it up to $60 and then said he’d do $50, that was still too rich for my blood so I pulled a few loose socket sets out and we settled on $40
The box is an older SK with a pretty intact label. Not too much rust, one corner of the outside is roached but bottom is clean and inside is really nice. Looking forward to cleaning this one up!
The stuff inside…couple randoms, the little spinners are Craftsman, spinner is Snap on.
The socket sets…the offshore one I just bought for the little Cornwell rat which turns out to be 3/8”. Got the Craftsman set for the box and was pleasantly surprised
Looks pretty original, not sure if this came with a ratchet originally. Can’t believe the Tommy bar is still there!
Finally the pouches, two Proto sets and a Vim

There are a few Hollywood wrenches, they are all marked Japan I believe. They’re in the goodwill pile if you want them!Depends upon how much you wanted to spend. Was available in different versions. (catalog snip below)
Does that "HOLLYWOOD" wrench have any markings on the other side? Herald mark? Taiwan? Hong Kong? Japan?
(I'm curious as to whether or not it might be "Hollywood Accessories" (which I used to sell) but I do not ever recall any of their tools having the company name on them.)

Has to be the same brand. The ratchets are branded.
we sold Hollywood for years. I cannot recall ever seeing the name on anything other than the label on the box.
Ok that's a Taiwan set. The Japan ratchets I'm familiar with are branded. Same ratchet that's been rebranded a million times. A step above that Taiwan for sure.we sold Hollywood for years. I cannot recall ever seeing the name on anything other than the label on the box.
I got out of the parts business Jan 15 1988, so I wouldn't know. Hollywood was still a going concern at that time.Do you remember when Hollywood shut down?

I did some work on this this AM. Whoever put it together had no idea of how tools work. Note the bolts on the "fixed jaw" aren't counter-sunk. I took the bolts out, flipped the board over and... there were the counter-sinks. Then the wing nuts that hold the legs in place were on regular hex-head bolts--what's the purpose of using a wing nut if you have to have a wrench to tighten it? Off those came and were replaced by a couple of carriage bolts from the spares cabinet. Now it's right!

CRAFTSMAN COMMERCIAL CARRY BOX
Another You **** for Beemer! You **** on that leather tote!
My buddy Joe picked up the Craftsman Commercial box and the Bonney stuff for me ,on his side of town. Where I got the ratchets I picked Joe a set of Craftsman adjustables and I had a Craftsman tombstone box set aside for him as well.Nice haul! But, I'm confused. Are those the items he picked up for you?
I'm presuming there was some sort of swap involved that might be fun to hear about?
Mike

came with a full pack of trimmer line
Last night MrsLS, LesserSonJr, LesserDottir3 and I attended a demolition derby at the Troy (PA) Fair, enjoying gyros, sausage, cactus fries and craft beer. Because of our multi-Plymouth/Dodge van history, Mrs LS and I got a kick out of the minivan catagory, but the powder puff round was a true thrill, with one of the entrants losing their roof early on.
Today my father, son and MrsLS accompanied me to the NY90 50-mile yard sale along Cayuga Lake. A little lighter haul than I was expecting, but I found some goodies for $22:

If the " Stanley unidentified toolholder" is the small black object between the axe handle and the tool chest, it looks like a Stanley No 49 depth stop for auger bits to me.
Damn nice haul! Two pick ups this week. walked a flea market with a fellow picker and we both came up empty handed but we had an excuse to meet up, we both had grabbed tools for the other on our respective sides of town. My 2 FBM picks this week yielded :

CRAFTSMAN COMMERCIAL CARRY BOX
Indeed. Found a similar pin vise earlier this year. Most unusual. Lowell, known for ratchets, made them. Link to mine and ensuing research and discussion in the Lowell thread, here. The vintage miniature screw jack in the same haul is also cool, too. I am curious if it is branded. I have a Templeton, Kenly & Co Baby Simplex from the 1934 World's Fair, where they were given away as souvenirs, but they are not toys, and they will hold like 500 lbs or so.The little jeweler’s vise is neat.
Looks like a PEXTO "Star" brand. Normally they also have the words "Steel" and "Screw" on either side of the size marking, and on the flip side, "P.S. & W. Co. Southington, Conn.," with or without a little spot-welded in patent tab. I have a small collection going and need the No. 6 if you're not keeping it....and a vintage C-clamp.
Early decal. Nice find!Williams Midget box and partial set,
