Not sure if anyone has seen this yet. It is a set for removing Christmas Tree fasteners and plastic rivets. The XMAS tree puller has an indexing head like some of the newer prybars

The other tool is for the two piece plastic rivets that you either depress or pull the center pin to release.

No ****....kinda need some space for the tree puller vs the plier type things, but I am going to see if I can check a set out....that means probably buy them.

That seems like it woulda been nice when I was removing the bumper of a honda civic. Seems its held on soley by those things. lol

Do you have a parts number?

SK 6640 is the set (both tools in a plastic parts box with a few fasteners thrown in.

SK 6648 is the pry/push tool

SK 6646 is the indexing head trim pry bar

They're not cheap but, definitely handy.

Pretty cool. I have several types I use, but have never seen the indexing type. I believe those will end up in my tool collection really, really soon

Reviving this long-dead thread because I need one of these. I've been looking for one for more than a year and have signed up for the 'email me when back in stock' options and alerts on ebay if one pops up used and it's just been crickets. I( don't suppose this tool is very high on the Chinese company (Hangzhou GreatStar) that now owns the SK name's list of tools to release.

Does no one else make a similar indexing body pin puller? If not, why not? (Looking at you Astro_Pneumatic_Tools). Not even a Chinese knockoff?

Been considering buying the smallest indexing pry bar I can find and seeing if I can cut & grind the working end down to this tool's shape but I'm worried it won't be strong enough to still be functional by the time I'm done.

Matco makes something similar. I have a set and been happy so far. Only used them a couple times. FYI I ordered them through Matco and it's not clear if it's in stock or not. Took them a couple months to ship my order.

Perfect! Ordered. Thanks!

If I known anything about those I'd have definitely ordered that set long ago.

What about one of these indexing nail pullers or pry bar by Crescent? It's slightly wider than a similar pry bar and it already has a forked end. May need to be ground down a little but for $17 - $27 it won't hurt too much.

Yeah I'd looked at those a couple times, and they look like they might suffice at first glance, but at 18" it's way too long for what I need to do.

Zoro finally came though. They took my order well back before my post above, but said the item was backordered. I didn't mention it because I kinda figured it was something that was never going to come back in stock. Every so often I'd get an email pushing back the expected backorder date and asking if I wanted to cancel. I did not as I was holding out hope it wasn't completely unobtanium forever. Turns out that hope was not all for not.

They look identical to my eyes to the SK tool as pictured in the OP, and still say 'SK USA' on them, but nowhere on the tools or packaging does it actually say 'Made in ****' so I'll assume it's not new old stock and instead was made in China by Hangzhou GreatStar Industrial. That said, seems extremely well made and a lot larger and stronger than the Matco set I recently got. The push-button 'hinge' on the Matcos feels a lot more flimsy in comparison.

I'm stoked. I've been wanting this for a long time and have been really regretting nor getting it when they were just a click away from various sellers. Perhaps all those places will now also be getting them back in stock? IDK?

Just checked my old box, nowhere on it says Made in US. I'm guessing you got the real deal.

It's had the backordered date extended so many times now for so long I doubt it's part of the old USA made stock, but no way for me to tell either way. If it is new old USA made stock hopefully I got the very last one. lol

As I recall, only the SK trim tools themselves were made in the USA. The parts box and the trim fasteners were imported. As far as I know SK still lists the trim tools and set on their website but, it's sold out. Great star hasn't made an imported version of that set yet that I'm aware of. Great score from Zoro:beer:

The new SK green hard handle stuff made overseas isn't market with "USA" on the handle.

I would bet these are left over items I don't see them making anymore of these kits I bought a few but don't think they sold too great and with the USA label on tools they would have to find a new supplier for all the parts etc.

$142 and change is significantly more than I paid back when they first came out. I wonder if Gold Star SK is making these again. Although I really don't see them making anything in the USA :dunno: Great trim tools

For what it's worth I saw a video the other day where a rep from SK said the tools sold directly from the SK website will continue to be made in the USA. Other sources like Amazon are imported.

I just received the SK set from ToolDiscounter. It was only $97.48 when I ordered it but it has been on back order almost two years. Tools are marked made in USA.

Received mine from Zoro. Pretty sure it drop shipped from SK. The Fedex app said the package was Hangzhou Equipment Holdings. $108 with tax after a 20% off coupon. Both were marked SK USA.

Honestly those both are such excellent and versatile tools, I'd pay 150 for the pair if I absolutely has no other option.

Made by who? I don't think Great Star has US production facilities :dunno:

SK shows them in stock on their website, and that kit was sold out somewhat recently (in the last year). The picture shows USA on the handles still.

Perhaps old stock is still at most vendors?

I know they're not USA made, but have you seen the "new" Matco set? I'm sure you have, but with the shorter length they seem a better design. I have a zillion clip tools but the Matco are tempting me.

I really like the curved head of the SK. The 4 piece matco set did look interesting but I'm not sure I would even use 4 different options. I have 4 main trim/clip tools that do 99% of my work, the rest just clog up the box.

Looking at the pics, it seems like one, or maybe two, of the Matco would be enough. They sell them individually.
