That thought did cross my mind then I decided that was less than ideal. You're going to be really good at sharpening drill bits by the time you're done.
Is there a point on the bottom end? If so, transfer punch. So I bought these in an auction thinking they were drill bits. Nope, all are solid.
What is it?
probably number drillsCutest little set of drill bits ever

Drill blanks can be used for set up for drilling operations,So I bought these in an auction thinking they were drill bits. Nope, all are solid.

I checked them all - no points. All perfect cylinders. Is there a point on the bottom end? If so, transfer punch.
you know, I've struggeled with a useful way to store my set of transfer punches, which came in a roll, that works fine, except you have to find a 3' side section to unroll it...Is there a point on the bottom end? If so, transfer punch.

Mine are in a cheap plastic blow mold case right now. I've got a Huot stand I was going to use that has all the fractions just pointing up in the airyou know, I've struggeled with a useful way to store my set of transfer punches, which came in a roll, that works fine, except you have to find a 3' side section to unroll it...
this is so ****** obvious now that I've been hit over the head with it. I'll have to see if mine are the right lengths to work in an index. (I think the small ones might be too long.) Thanks.
oh, if they fit, I'll buy an index. A huot, even. One of the insane things about the roll they're in is that they're not in order. They mostly are, but there are some weird swaps. it probably makes it roll better, but it's annoying. An index, which can be out somewhere, instead of in a drawer, will make using them pleasant.Mine are in a cheap plastic blow mold case right now. My daughter gave me back an old rectangular Craftsman index, but I think it only goes to 3/8" also. I think I can unfold the bit stop on the bottom to get long ones in there
Well, this plan may not have been quite as cool as I thought. My transfer punch set goes up to 17/32, the Huot only goes to 1/2". So while most of it looks great, just tossing the one in loose, or punching a 17/32" hole in the front right corner are my two options, with keeping the status quo a third. My current stand isn't as cheap as I thought, must be the one I bought for a friend that was so bad.Mine are in a cheap plastic blow mold case right now.
