Here's some 1940 metric stuff, 11 through 32mm, missing the 13 and 14mm.

This is what I imagine the Snap-on dealers give to their loyal and long time customers when they start getting forgetfull in their old age ha20241002_223422.jpg20241002_223355.jpg

I have a slotted and a phillips still sealed. Look much nicer than the ones they hand out now.

I got a whole pile of those a while back from somewhere I forget where but they definitely went down hill. I remember I did pretty good on the gold spackle ones to. Not sure if those were giveaways or not. And I have no idea what the point of sale was for these other trinkets. Got a bunch of pens and razors watches, cups, straws, playing cards ect. I have been on the truck probably once ever and left with a ****** air compressor powered pressure washer like one screw driver and negative 300$ but hey I did get a little coin for free ha.

Can anyone tell or show me what the oldest refrigeratoration set looks like? Wondering if it's something I should go after. The ratchet is early 30s20241006_213920.jpg20241006_213943.jpg

How does everyone set these sets up? Would love to see some examples. I want to go close to how it's meant to be but not 100% and I probably will want to fill with stuff slightly earlier than 36 Screenshot_20241007_070201_Facebook.jpgScreenshot_20241007_070157_Facebook.jpg

Recently acquired this S-71 1/2dr ratchet. Appears to be unused. For the life of me I can not find a marking to indicate a date.

What date code is this? Looks like a 4 but not the usual 4 for 34. Also here's the temp setup for the midget set 20241011_203200.jpg20241011_203142.jpg20241011_203302.jpg

I think it just got squished in a strenuous stamping. It can't be 1944, the 1954 "4" has a bracket on the bottom, and is tool late for that wrench anyway, and most of the Blackmar patent (1922) licensed tools (Snap-on, Bonney, Williams, etc) are 1930's.

I guess it's only made in 37 and I now see how it could be a bungled up 7

Two 4s and a 5. My 5 is also on the 5/8”.
Thanks for confirming, RJ.

You have to be careful with drawing conclusions based exclusively on collectingsnapon.com, or AA, or any site that tends to be empirically insular. GJ is not the bible, either, but it is an open book, and casts a wider net.

42jeep, I as well have some of this style of wrenches. I picked them up at a yard sale this summer for one dollar apiece. And like any set of anything you buy used, one seems to always be missing. This set in no exception to the rule. The 1/2×9/16 is nowhere to be found.

Here they are. Does anyone have a 1/2x9/16 laying around they aren't using?

Snap On 196 needle nose pliers I found in a scrap pile along with a pair of vacuum grip side cutters I picked up at a flea market a few years back.

No date code but vacuum grip has one.

Overall both are actually in good condition. Needle nose has wear on lettering but intact jaws while vacuum grip has been banged around but also has intact jaws.
