Stared at this shop for a while and decided to build some loft storage and beef up the rafter ties. I doubled the tie in the forefront and added a spacer. Added a ledger on the rear wall. Some of the rafters aren't even fastened and this has been standing for over 80 years. There isn't a ridge beam either which isn't necessary but it's the first I've seen. The way the vice was attached to the bench is interesting

Scored a Record #3 though.
Debating on doing the walls with 1.5" rigid foam and shiplap. You can see the sample board tacked up. Any thoughts/ideas?
I would like the hand hewn posts and beams visible. I'm also doing a layer of rigid foam on the outside at some point. The ceiling will be R20 Roxul covered in shiplap.
