Does it have pinches or ball stops on the ends?
Ball stops. Looks to be 28 date code I'm not sure when they stopped doing the pinched end since that method was pretty much done before the midget stuff came onto the scene as far as I know

1934 Snap on rat. model 71A. NO-RPL. Never seen one. usually the no-rpl shows up in early 40s tools, but never a rat.
Has number 44 stamped on it, probably a owners marking, but not sure.
Had to repair, new paw ball, Had to replace the selector switch, used a common nail.

I come across some Ratchets every now and again with those exact same 4 markings pretty odd

Here is a recent FH-1214 garage sale find now living in my user box. Looks like a 1950 date code.IMG_6781.jpegIMG_6782.jpeg

I went to add my new wrench to my user box today and found that I already had the same one right down to the date code. What are the odds? I guess one will be heading back to my summer home this coming spring. IMG_6846.jpegIMG_6844.jpeg

I always thought that No-RPL was because it was govt. Issue. Apparently not. Well I guess it could be.

Snap On Railroad Wrenches ?

Hello boys !! I dont get here as often now that I am retired. But... I came across a set of Snap On wrenches that I cant find any info on.

They are marked GVS with a 1985 "z" stamp. They have the Industrial finish.
I see some on the bay, one of which was listed as a railroad tool. ???

I dont find it on CollectingSnapOn which maybe due to my search skills.

So I have the set from 1" to 3/8". Anybody familiar with these ??

Thanks

I have a chrome plated obstruction wrench in that configuration dated 1957. The part number is VS 40. I doubt that the G in the industrial finish wrenches refers to the government.

I need some help. I’m cleaning up a 29/30 5/8 drive socket set tonight and ran across this odd fellow. Any ideas? Home improvement to a socket?

Found it in a bin of misc seal drivers, and puller parts at work. It clearly did some time as a seal or race driver. The square is deformed from getting wailed on.

Could probably be cleaned up, but with most things going metric...

The other one I use is a Cornwell 🤣

I am not to much of a industrial collector, but some pcs interest me as a collector.
The "P" tools started in the mid to late 20s and carried on for at least the 60s probably more.
Most all the 20s that show up are sockets.
Maybe there will be an industrial 20s cat will show up some day. I have a 37 and that's the earliest I have seen.
This is such a odd size for an industrial tool. Does not show up in the 37 cat, but other SPxxx do.

There was a 34 and 35 industrial catalog made but I have never seen any. Just a record that they exist. There's multiple publications that have yet to be uncovered

A "Ferret" set found stuck under a bench at a local estate sale, incomplete. I was never a snap-on fan because of their price new, so never learned too much about them or their history, but if I trip over them dirt cheap I sometimes pick them up, especially if I can use them. I have a great 1/2" drive Snap-on breaker bar I have used for years that was gotten from a local junk dealer for instance and puts up with much abuse without complaint. After quite a few years of this sitting around, I was finally inspired today because of this forum community to look up the date codes on the pieces in this set and they are all from 1940 to 1945. If anyone has any information on the set, maybe what it is missing, that would be great, thank-you.

I've accumulated a bunch of ferret stuff. From 26 to early 30s it evolved to that set more or less until late 40s.
